Welling win 3-1 and climb back out of the relegation zone, still got a game in hand on Cray Valley as well
Was planning to go to this but stuff I had to do indoors took longer than expected.
Understandable mate, it takes longer to do certain things the older we get, no need to feel any shame

Even my wife said I should go but things I’d been putting off for a while really needed doing. Is the Potters Bar game now on the 14th? Can’t see it on the fixture list but thought I’d read that’s when it was.

Big day for Punjab Utd today, they play Cockfosters in the second leg of the Vase semi final. 1-1 from the first leg.

Will have a trip to watch at Wembley if they make it.
    Punjab lost 1-0 :-(

Yeah mate. Potters Bar sacked off their manager, which is disappointing

With a lack of league action yesterday I got to go and see Peacehaven & Telscombe FC in the Southern Combination Premier for only the second time since I've lived here.  A bargain 8 quid adult entry and reasonable bar prices too.  A spirited affair against Eastbourne FC with a few cards which was enjoyable to watch.

Sadly, just a day after I trudged home from The Valley I got to witness another home loss, though at least this time it wasn't by the home sides own keeper.

I'm beginning to think I'm the jinx now ..... maybe I'll stay away from the PNE game anyway 🤔

    Cray W 3 Billericay 4. att. 777

Cray 3-1 up at one stage, Riiiiiickaaaaay with the 94th min winner.

Enjoyable game but my habit of cursing teams continues.
I saw the Billericay goals on Instagram. Cray goalie had an absolute shocker for all of them.

Dartford fail to win, and can't catch Chatham to make the playoffs now.

I've never been impressed with them when I've seen them this season to be honest.

Notice Rochdale scored in the 9th minute of injury time to beat Braintree this evening... York beat Yeovil 3-0 and were on course to win the National League title.
Instead it gets decided next week Rochdale vs York, if the former win they take the title, if York avoid defeat then they're promoted

Ridiculous that 4 get promoted out of L2, but only 2 relegated. Highlighted when there are 2 excellent NL sides, who will get over 100 points.

And most NL sides do very well when they go up to L2.
24/25 - Barnet and Oldham are top half, Barnet with a chance of the playoffs
23/24 - Bromley promoted to L1, Chesterfield in the L2 playoffs.

Plus the likes of Wrexham and Stockport.

Used to be justifiable when most of the national league was part time.
Now it’s a full time league.

3 up is an important change that needs to happen.

I have a soft spot for Rochdale after dickhead Southall shenanigans.  Didn't one of their fans appear.on here for a bit.  Would like to see them win and go up I think; although I also like York and they were massively hard done by last season so I would be delighted for them if they win the league.  Just hope whoever misses out wins through in the play offs.
    Massive game next weekend.

Would be nice to see two ex league clubs come back to the 92 circuit.

Out of interest does anyone know why 4 get promoted out of L2 but only 3 get promoted out of L1 and the Championship? I know it's been like that for ages but what was the original reason?

It absolutely needs a reform to 3 up, 3 down across all leagues including the National league.

Isn't it just historical? It's from when it switched from regional divisions to Division 3 and 4. Which is odd cos I'm pretty sure it was only 1 up before from each, so not sure why they increased it to 4 rather than going to 2.

Pennock standing down from Dartford. It sounds like his decision,  and that the budget is tight

Nice to see from Rochdale and York... Understandable as well that they further demand two automatic promotion slots

Rochdale playing York today … potentially one won’t go up which is ridiculous

Shame our game kicked off at the same time. The last 10 minutes sounded entertaining

If Rochdale fans had the mentality to storm the pitch after the full time whistle, they’d probably be an EFL club again

Instead, more minutes added giving York time
    to equalise

    Crazy game

Mental end to the Rochdale v York game. Pre ejaculation from Rochdale fans..
  • Sad for Rochdale.  I hope they win the play offs.  An incredible season and what an end to it.
Ultimately with over 100 points, two seasons in a row, York deserve to be back in the league.

Reported in the French press as Hitchcockien:

    https://www.20minutes.fr/sport/football/premier_league/4220290-20260425-angleterre-envahissement-terrain-95e-clim-103e-d5-acheve-scenario-anthologie?at_medium=RSS%20feed&at_campaign=ynews&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=news_feed&utm_content=read_more_link

It always amuses me to see the look of bewilderment on people’s faces when I tell them things like:
    - We got over 20000 in the third division
    - We got 80000 for the third division play off final
    - There are five national divisions
    - We play 46 league matches
    - Teams can get relegated with over 50 points
    - You can get promoted in 7th place

To get so near and have it taken away from them I fear that they might see they have had their chance.  I hope I am wrong.
  • It's because of matches like Rochdale v York and the drama involved that we as Football supporters can genuinely say that Football is the best sport in the world.

Scunthorpe beat Southend 1-0 to set up a clash with Rochdale in the semis. Scunthorpe a big reason why Rochdale failed to win promotion as both games were draws.
