I had a busy weekend - Hayes vs Lordswood in the KCL Premier division on Saturday and then Tunbridge Wells vs Reigate Priory in the ECB National Club knockout yesterday.

Lordswood have been rocked by injuries to two of their best players - Callum MacLeod and Linden Lockhart - both to knee injuries. With Ed Taylor (67) as captain, they scored 238 against Hayes on a decent deck, but it did look 30-50 short IMO. Hayes lost an early wicket, but then controlled the game, winning with more than ten overs to spare.  Will Harby scored 68 and Will MacVicar 95 (out trying to get his ton when only 8 were required for the win).

Tunbridge Wells were much changed for their cup game, with five missing from the "usual" Saturday team, mostly batters. On a poor pitch (used in the 2's game on Saturday as well), the youthful Reigate recovered to post 210 in their 40 overs. George Ealham batted beautifully to score exactly a hundred, getting there with a single off the last ball of the innings. Wells lost wickets regularly, and despite some lusty blows, never looked like getting any closer than they eventually did, losing by 45 runs (36.3 overs).
Despite missing MacLeod and Lockhart, Lordswood managed to scrape home in the final over by beating Bexley by 2 wickets yesterday in the National Cup.

The less said about the game I watched on Saturday the better! Holmesdale scored 381-5 against a much changed Bickley side from last season who, in turn, replied with 178 all out. The only positive was that Seb managed to pop up late in the game to see two of his friends from his time at the DLCA in Australia - Nathan Khelawon and Ollie Chaplin - who scored 115 and 39 respectively for Holmesdale.

I also see Rilee Endersby bowled well on his debut with 4-28 off 10 overs.
Yes, Lordswood did well against Bexley, and those who batted OK on Saturday did so again on Sunday.

I understand Holmesdale's score was the highest BP have ever relinquished in a KCL game!

Rilee has bowled well so far for CWK; I think he's a decent bat too, but he hasn't had much of a chance in the two games he's played so far...
Elliot Hooper (working), Ranjit Singh (now at Gravesend), Michael Ridley (injured), Ish Berhami (playing for a club in Middlesex) and Sam Geyer (last season's overseas) accounted for 103 wickets last season and none of them were available on Saturday for the reasons given.

Bickley 2s had an extremely ropey, very 3rdsy attack and still almost beat our 1s, who played a bunch of terrible shots tbf

Damian Magin, who took 38 wickets in the 2s last season at 12.18 was in the 1s on Saturday and went for 43 runs in 3 overs, somewhat demonstrating the difference in class between the two sides and the "ripple effect" of losing players from the top side.

We needed 41 off 14 overs with 6 wickets left chasing 160 in 40 overs
    having dropped 6 dolly’s ourselves
oppo held everything and we lost 3 wickets for 6 runs then a 25 partnership had us needing 10 off 19 balls , set batsmen takes a risky single to stay on strike and our no.9 doesn’t ground bat and he’s out I’m in at ten and I’m no mug with bat easy job to do .
next ball swipe by set batsmen thick edge caught at fly slip , next ball shit no.11 plumb lbw , team hatrick for them and we lose by ten runs .
im fuming and my Tourette’s kicks in that we’d lost to a load of guff and people just can’t use their brains aaaaah

Our 2s have picked three specialist offspinners for their next game. I am one of them. I think there is an expectation that our home pitch might turn a bit

I was up there earlier - Bickley 297 from their 50 overs, after a bright start by Dartford bowlers - can’t see Dartford challenging that total 😤

Put in we managed a pathetic 92 all out skipper top scoring with 48 threw his wicket away skying one of a pie with 20 overs to go , idiot … 3 overs later I do exactly the same thing what a complete twat I am .
they knocked em off for the loss of  2 wickets
we could be going for back to back relegations.
Ive got a week off next week for a wedding , I need it I’ve been utter dross .

It will be interesting to see if Ben Dawkins plays against Jas Singh in my game this weekend! Neither are in the Kent blast team playing tomorrow...so both could be made available on Saturday?

One other player who might feature is Ekansh for Bexley. Jas batted at 3 in the last game and it could be a "like-for-like" swap for that position!!!!

I'm very likely to be there. With Seb not now playing and as a fully paid up member of three clubs (Bickley are at Sandwich and Sidcup are at Leeds & Broomfield), Bexley is the most appealing of the three. Hopefully see you then.
