Smith goes, after pluckily supporting the main batsman Robinson.

Serious questions need to be asked regarding this wicket.
I've played on better myself,  this wicket is not fit for a Test match.

50 partnership to the Surrey boys 👏👏
I assume the Surrey fans will claim credit for Nathan Smith’s five fer too  ;)

Been listening to TMS for 20 mins instead of watching. 2 wickets both missed because of chatter as the bowler runs in. Is nothing sacred anymore?

We only claim credit for what we achieve.

Kent can claim credit for dressing like palace

254 to win, and a horrible hour to bat tonight

Would have liked 280+ but it is what it is.

If the wicket behaves like it has done today then England should win. Also lots of rain around tomorrow. Might go into Sunday.

We might dress like Palace but at least we don't support them AND Surrey.

Awful shot by Latham. A very Bazball dismissal.

That 57 from Gay is looking very good.

Pitch looks like it's gone a bit flat - certainly no grubbers that got Bethel out.

Probably have to wait another 6-10 overs for the lacquer to wear off otherwise NZ have a decent chance if winning.

Umpires call for impact is an utterly ridiculous law

Crazy how bad Williamson's record in England is. His game seems perfect for our conditions

Great reception from the Members to Williamson leaving the field. It was rather spoilt, though, by so many of them not bothering to tip their MAGA caps to him.

Yeah agreed considering kiwi pitches are not too dissimilar to English really with pace and swing.

More daft rules (laws). A wicket falls within 3 mins of the close and that's the days play done & dusted. No matter that its bright sunshine & the bowler has still got another ball to bowl.

And I thought the whole point of the game was to take wickets  🤷‍♂️.

33 in 2 days not enough for you?

If it was a county game at Canterbury and that many wickets fell inside two days the pitch inspection mob would be out.

    Bet Lords is sacrosanct though.

    They'll deduct Middlesex 10 points  :D

Great entertainment,  but ridiculous that after 16 wickets fell yesterday, 17 fell today.

After the pitch issues, I imagine the next MCC members meeting will be interesting as the club will take a big financial hit because of this, as well as looking amateurish.

So is the rule that you can’t host tests for 3 year on a new square?

Not the point & you know it.

It's the daftness of it all. They've been playing extra time to make up for overs lost & it comes to the last 3 mins & its....."lets call it time lads, the next player in is on a King pair & it wont be fair on him to bat an over in this sunshine".

Why 3 mins ?  Why not 5 ?. In fact 3 mins is strange as it should be 4, based on having to bowl 15 overs an hour.

    As I say.....bonkers
