Anderson is such a clutch player, does the dirty shit but looks forward all the timeDamoNorthStand said:Gonna overreact but we look so much more energetic and fresh going into this than previous teams.
No Phillips or Henderson bollocks here.
Anderson and Rice are class0 -

Only in America would you have what looked like a Burger King next to the corner flagKBslittlesis said:Ark at them having a fecking picnic by the corner flag, WTAF? 🤣🤣🤣🤣6 -
Can tell there is competition in the squad. Players pressing like this is the actual tournament.2
-
Fucking hell Anderson is a good player isn’t he.1
-
Strange, because they’re not known for being big eaters out thereElthamaddick said:

Echoing all the above.Anderson is just a superb footballer. I remember watching him alongside Scott for the U21’s.You could see the talent.0
-
We really look up for it.
our midfield 3 are absolutely superb
wide men both playing well, lots of pressure to perform out there with the talent sitting on the bench0 -
Never quite understood Southgate’s reluctance to use Gordon - a left-footed winger on the left.KBslittlesis said:Great goal. Good work by Barca’s Gordon 🤩2 -
Pickfords ball distribution as shocking as ever1

Wembley used to have a speedway and dog track between the pitch and the crowd. I think at least one was partly replaced with turf but it was never a spectators idyl.bobmunro said:Gisappointed said:
Utter bollocks. The MCG is one of the biggest stadia in the world. Sydney not much smaller.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
I don't think Australia has enough suitable stadiums to host it.jimmymelrose said:
In that case, shouldn't it go to Australia? There is no rule at FIFA - only money counts.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
I get your point but they rotate the tournament across different continents and you can't host a world cup in North America without the US involved.Mametz said:fenaddick said:
So soon? It's been 32 years!! For reference, the shortest gap is 16 years (Mexico 1970 & 1986). Germany was also 32 yearsMametz said:Normally I look forward to the World Cup finals but not this time. Why has the USA got it again so soon after having it before? Why has it been expanded to so many teams? Extended half times, so as to pack in as much advertising revenue as possible. Etc, etc, etc.
I really can’t be arsed to watch this overblown farce.
Thanks for both of your replies.Algarveaddick said:
Much as I disagree with another totalitarian 😉 state like the USA being given most of the world cup, it's Mexico's third bite of the apple, the last being only sixteen years after the first.Mametz said:Normally I look forward to the World Cup finals but not this time. I really can’t be arsed to watch this overblown farce.I can accept that the America’s have right to host the World Cup, given the enthusiasm of the fans and the success of teams such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguayan in previous World Cups. But the USA? It is not one of the two most popular sports in that country. It may be 32 years since The USA hosted the tournament but it is 36 years since Italy, three times winners, hosted the tournament, 44 years since Spain, former winners, have hosted the tournament and 60 years since England, former winners, hosted the tournament. In all of those countries there is greater enthusiasm for football than the USA.
The last 5 world cups have been Africa, South America, Europe, Asia and now North America.
Half a dozen over 50k.The MCG and SCG are huge but not ideal for football unless it's Aussie Rules. But there are half a dozen other NRL and RU stadiums with 50k plus.1 -
These are not sh*t, they are proper sh*t. Just hope we get through without an injury.ValleyGary said:These are shit but so are Ghana and Panama. We look decent.Ghana will be a much different test0 -

Oh dear Noni. What a ball Bellingham though1

You don’t want to be doing that when Saka is your competition.

Exactly, no good laughing about it mate - you’ve gotta finish thatLaddick01 said:You don’t want to be doing that when Saka is your competition.0 -

The ball looks very floaty.Rice, Bellingham and even Kane with very uncharacteristic efforts.0

See I know the commentators said no penalty and whilst it was touch and go, I don’t think that’s what VAR is for.
It’s meant for I be for clear and obvious errors. Not debatable decisions0 -
Wasn’t a penalty though, can’t argue with that.1
-
Isn’t it good to watch England without that godawful band playing. And no drummers!1

CAFC Bexley flag behind the goal10
-
Good view just now of the Bexley Charlton flag.1
-
The amount of tactical fouls this friendly has had is funny.1

The old Wembley was iconic - but not a great football stadium.0 -
Am sure I'm not the only one to see/comment on this - just seen a Charlton flag behing the Costa Rica goal0

Not really news. What will be news is when you see a Costa Rica flag behind a Charlton goal 😀PrincessFiona said:Am sure I'm not the only one to see/comment on this - just seen a Charlton flag behing the Costa Rica goal2
