Bashir is the sort of spinner you should only pick on a complete turner in India, as on any surface not offering much assistance, he's way too inconsistent. Hence he wasn't played in the Ashes, and today has gone for 97 runs.1

Since they put test cricket behind a pay wall (about 20 years ago) I have rarely seen our players live. Seen them when I have had the privilege to go to the matches or just via a highlights programme but rarely live on TV. So important to have TMS. Similar to Kent but there is their quite awful stream they put out on YouTube.

Really? What's the history for them doing that? You might not recall the time when Bairstow was given a three-year central contract and didn't play him for the final half of that. Malan was given a one-year central contract and didn't play a single game. They didn't come out and say that was a mistake because that would have been an admission that central contracts in their current form do not work.golfaddick said:

Equally, how many Charlton players have been given contracts and been given next to zero time? Loads. How many times have the owners or management publicly admitted it was a mistake? Never.
McCullum and Key thought that Bashir would get county game time but no one really wanted him until this season. So, they hoped that playing him on the international stage would do that. It hasn't. I suspect that unless he show some improvement playing for England (assuming he does) this summer, he won't get another central contract come November.1 -
Can't see Bashir getting another Central Contract. Would expect Rehan and James Coles to get one if they perform over the summer.0

Baffling that Bashir is even considered, averages 48 in FC with the bowl, 8 with the bat and is an awful fielder in the playing in the second division, is this really the best we have?0
