Fery faces Dimitrov in round 4. Dimitrov the former World No 3 has dropped down the rankings following injury problems but has shown good form at Wimbledon and will be a tough match.

Fery seems to have the patience to play rallies rather than play a couple of shots then hit the ball out going for winners,something Fearnley was guilty of in his last game.I reckon he could win his next game.

One thing I noticed was the lack of double faults because he so calm, even in key moments

Fery to play Cobolli in the QF. Fery beat him at the Australian Open.

I said he could beat Dimitrov,and no reason he cant win his next game,great attitude,never gives up or gets down when things go wrong.He just has an all round game,good serve,excellent returning,very good shot selection,nobody will want to play him in this form.Can he keep it up when Wimbledon is over,yes he can,but the problem will be motivation,playing smaller events,fewer people watching in places he wont be familiar with,keep winning games and get in that top 20,start beating the likes of Shelton,Di Manuer,he can do it.

I think he can. Not just because of his all round game but because of his attitude. It's that, that can make such a difference. He seems (so far) that he is very level-headed and takes everything in his stride and doesn't get fazed. That's hard to coach or learn, although hot-headed teenagers like Borg and Federer learned that calmness in their game made a huge difference, so I understand

He's been playing on the Challenger tour in front of small crowds and unfamiliar places so won't find that an issues. The issue will be playing better players on a regular basis and not winning so many matches - hopefully he can make the step up. Fearnley has struggled on the main tour.

Agreed about the comparison to Fearnely. But Fearnley's issue with double-faulting is partly what led to me noticing Fery's lack of double faults, otably (not) at key moments. Sure, other players will take more (some) notice of him now, but I think he has so many important characteristics. The one thing he can't do anything about is being shorter than the average player, with less reach and the obvious implications re his service action etc but he's certainly very quick and reads the game well

Fails the Charlton Life height test but besides that has performed magnificently whatever happens in the quarter finals.
