Klugman and Xu out so 9 Brits knocked out today. Pinnington-Jones in the men's and Jones in the women's left to play today.
Boulter and Swan play tomorrow in the women's. Fery, Fearnley,Choinski, Harris, Samuel and Wendelken play in the men's.
I thought it unlikely that a single British player would make the second week but at present we're struggling to get a player in the second round.1 -

really this is a dire time for UK tennis,Raducanu pulls out late again,apparently still gets £40.000,surely their should be some provision for a lucky loser to come in and play even at this late stage,some fringe player who could do with the cash,also Draper pulls out at the last minute.I am not a doctor,but Raducanu has hardly trained since Queens,and yet the day before Wimbledon she is diagnosed with a stress fracture,surely a simple scan or xray weeks ago would have found this out.Got a feeling this young lady is not going to have a very long career i this game.2

Two withdrawals, three victories and fifteen defeats for the Brits in the first round so far. Pretty dismal showing.2 -

Watching Serena Williams and noticed the court is cutting up badly on the baseline already, distinct lines scratched into the service same both ends, has someone played who has a weird foot movement when serving?0

Watching Williams last night was an all too often picture of someone trying to relive the glory days when it is impossible.At her peak ,with due respects to her opponent,that could have been a double bagel.Why do they do it,it was to me sad to watch this great player,lumbering around the court,visibly puffing after every longish rally.Please Serena ,no more,let us remember you as the player you were.2

Numerous withdrawals at Wimbledon and some of the other grass court tournaments with many at the last minute. It's not a great look for the sport and I'm surprised players still pick up prize money if they don't play but are in the draw.PrincessFiona said:

Surely not all the injuries are flagged at the last minute?
There do seem to be more injuries in tennis these days which must say something about the changing physical nature.1 -

Played better than I expected - Joint is a decent opponent. Watching how some footballers miraculously recover after the physio has been on, albeit after theatrically limping for at least 2 strides, after going down like they've been shot or broken their leg/ankle in several places, I think Radcanu needs an ex-football physio0
