I have no problem with his return whatsoever, he was good for us in his first spell.  I didn't boo him or give him stick when he came back with Huddersfield or WBA, he is a decent solid Championship quality signing.  Welcome back Karlan.

    £20k a week?
I’ve checked with the magic knowing what players are paid shoe and it said he’s only getting a tenner a month, which seems low but there we go

I'm quite pleased by this. He was always a pretty hard worker, who pressed and used his pace, while being unafraid to take someone on. If he and TC are doing the same role then I think it's a pretty good tandem.

As for the financials, he probably is one of our higher paid players now but that is offset by the lack of a transfer fee. Think it looks like a potentially smart move; hopefully it manifests as such.

Truly thought it was a wind-up post when this was mooted a couple of days ago so it does show I know nothing about transfers.

Not my favourite player after what he has said & done since he left us. Also don't believe that he was one of our "targets" 2 months ago.

But he has plenty of experience & hopefully will add something to our attacking intent.

And btw......he's much nearer 29 as his birthday is in September.

Agree. Slight worry for me is his goals return. Hardly prolific but we can’t afford that in a player from The Championship. Welcome Karlan

    Welcome back Karlan!

Was gutted when he left under Bow and thought it might cost us promotion. Glad we managed to get over the line. I was at Peterborough away when he missed that pen in his last game.

Didn't our fans give him abuse when he came back a couple of times?

I think this is a decent signing, experienced but not old, knows the club and manager can play different roles in different systems. Most importantly he fills a clear gap in our squad from last season where we clearly lacked pace and the ability to move the ball upfield quickly and beat a man. The lack of that last year meant we overrelied on TC in his first season in the championship and he became our only outlet. This should mean we can still have those attributes on the pitch and either rotate TC or mix the systems up.

Leaving halfway through our promotion winning season was to my mind disloyal. And so I’m surprised he’s coming back to us. If he scores goals and helps us to win, then he is very quickly forgiven. If he sees this as run of the mill with little effort, then he won’t be forgiven.
I think you are forgetting who was running the club at the time. Douchebag couldn't wait to cash in .The transfer fee didn't get reinvested either. We got Josh Parker....

This, but also Huddersfield were in the PL at the time. No way he could turn that down.

Good signing, he will be fantastic competition for Tupac and someone he can learn from. Good finisher and defends from the front

    Quick still too

A little underwhelming in terms of he’s not been prolific for quite a while and seems to have fallen out of favour at West Brom. However, realistically this is the market we are shopping in, especially for forward players who are so expensive. He’s proven/established at this level, seems to stay mostly fit and available, and knows the club/area/Jones.

He’s an upgrade on someone like Olaofe and faster and technically better that Dykes.

Not the most exciting signing we’ll ever make but one that makes sense on paper, imo.

    Welcome back KAG!!

Not overly excited about this . He does bring experience but does he bring goals ? I’m not so sure

Neutral on this, I do remember his partnership with Taylor being very fruitful maybe he’ll do the same with someone this season.
No not involved. Injured presumably at the time
He did play against us at home I think.

I suspect it was an offer came in and the club wanted the money.

Yep - let’s just shake the magic money tree for the bazillions required to sign a proven Championship goal scorer.

Dont think goals are what Jones wants him for - its pressing and supporting the wingback/fullback that Jones is interested in.  We can question if that is necessarily the right way of doing it but I don't see him scoring many goals but equally I dont see that being something NJ judges him on.

He might improve us slightly but doubt he will make a significant difference, really hope I’m wrong, but then again I’m not sure what I was expecting from our transfers, very small improvements is probably where we are right now.

Last season we had TC and Tanto in that role. This season we have TC and Grant. That’s a pretty big improvement imo

Last season our strikeforce were a little short of
converting losses and draws into wins. He is an improvement, so, if stays fit, should get us more points

Very good signing, the way we are setting up in pre season think could see TC shifted to the right. Finally have pace either side which we have been crying out for

Can’t imagine TC on the right .  A half decent defender will shift him inside and he won’t know what to do .

Could say when on the left it’s obvious he wants to cut inside yet still does it 👀

True! If we had a more creative midfield , where he could run in behind and be played in, he’d be ok on the right .

Fingers crossed that’s where majority of the budget will go. 2 quality midfielders
