Feedback from a mate who’s Millwall, McNamara is fine, gives everything, and likely to prove good for us - but is injury prone.

Nothing new but worth hearing from someone who has seen him play.

Debut today - honestly looks exactly what we were told he would be, Mr Steady who is defensively reliable but unlikely to go rampaging forward with impact.

Likes the look of him and shows how (understandably) Millwall are currently a way down the round when that’s the standard of the players they can let go.

    Looks steady and reliable. Solid.

    Good competitive debut I thought.

I also thought he looked decent.
But we have to remember we were playing a team from league 2.
Id like to see him play a few times in the championship before I can judge how good he is.

Great technique on the volley. Would have gone in if not for that block.

Can tell he likes to get stuck in.

Thought he was brilliant today. Better going forward than I expected.

I like him so far. When we look for "proven Championship quality" this is the kind of thing we want - no frills, nothing flashy but reliable and will do exactly what we ask.

Like him, he's got that bermondsey bite about him. Great goal attempt too.

That volley was class, looked more likely to score that than Clarke ever did and he had chances from 6 yards

Great first league game for us. Shows the strength of scum squad that they can let him go as I thought he looked solid

McNamara wasn't overawed by playing in front of the biggest home crowd of his career
and he must have thought he was at a church picnic without the effing and blinding that he normally experiences.

There was one big crunching tackle he did in the second half I think, few more performances like that and he’ll have won us totally over

Solid and dependable were my first thoughts but I actually think that's a bit of a disservice to him. He may not be flashy but he looked pretty exception as a 1v1 defender which is the number one key requirement for a full back.

Chris Solly vibes. Just solid. Stood out because he didn’t stand out - just did his job without fuss.

Big game for him next Saturday. He'll either score the winner or get sent off  :D
