    been having large bags of crisps with see through bags recently from the likes of aldi, lidl and B&M. sweet chilli. sour cream and chive being a couple of flavours and they are very nice and cheaper than the likes of walkers and the posh crisps you get in pubs.

    On offer in Waitrose at the moment, 2 bags for £4 normally £3 per bag. Several other flavours including plain, but these are the best ones so far, properly beefy.
    Much thinner than a lot of corn chips which IMO improves the texture

    That's me off to Waitrose in the morning. £3 is a bit a steep though. Blaming you if they are rubbish 😉

    Agree about £3, I only buy them on offer. So I spent £12 yesterday on them, Mrs Idle doesn't like flavoured stuff much, so two bags of plain for her, and a bag of sour cream and jalapeno (not tried yet) as well as the asado ones.
    Mind you they sell fried egg crisps in there too for £4.95. Amazingly, they taste very strongly of egg, but not really in a good way. I bought and tried them so you dont have to.

    The creamy jalapeno flavour is very jalapenoey. Nice if you like your mouth to tingle for twenty minutes after you've finished eating but not a sophisticated flavour

    a huge vat of oil, sack loads of sliced potato's, and a shovel on a Pole (Pavel!)

    Small batches, overseen by a person, hand stirred, as opposed to a conveyor belt frying system with no human interaction. They are typically thicker cut and command a price premium.

    My dad always said the best pork scratchings were the ones with fingernails still in them
