  • From @Callumcafc post above it appears that the lack of money is not the issue here.  A five billion dollar war chest is not to be sniffed out.  Surely that is enough to service the smaller nations without the need to offer a bribe?  Making sure it is used and not abused is the top priority.

And with reserves standing at over $5bn, he has also failed to use associations’ money for the benefit of the game.

I can’t see Infantino getting re-elected after this fiasco. A terrible lack of judgment. He’s going to get so much flak in the coming months that I’d be surprised if he even stood for re-election.

He got carried away with his own hubris.
What’s the poor bloke gonna do for money if he’s voted out? I worry for him…
perhaps he could do a sub-stack, but even then he will still get pelters from some!

In my world the half time entertainment in the uefa world final would be Infantino being pulled apart by horses, so he won't need to worry about money any more

Showing a bit of a lack of imagination there imo. He could be toed to a rack and for each donation of 10p to FIFA, the rack extends by 0.0001 mm. £10,000 is a mm (i think) so £10m should be enough to pull his arms and legs off.

As long as it’s done within 15 minutes.

Nah, too quick. Spread over two hydration breaks. That'd teach him a lesson he won't forget.

Wales have withdrawn their support for Infantino's re-election - Am guessing this'll be a thing now from all UEFA, but ideally its going to need the backing of the smaller Nations to really get him out.

As of now there isn't even a candidate to stand against him

I guess we can also assume that since Qatar released a statement over the weekend backing Infantino, that means Al Khelaifi isn't interested in standing for election.

I read somewhere that the Concacaf president Victor Montagliani was potentially interested.

Quoted from the BBC report, this is EUFA's response to FIFA about their proposals.

"Uefa's request for all documents regarding the investment plan, included "email, instant messages (WhatsApp, Signal, Teams, Slack or any other platform), SMS, written correspondence and meeting notes", and those which involved "any Fifa officer, employee, committee member, consultant or agent, or any Fifa member association, confederation, broadcaster, sponsor, or financial institution".

In reference to the 19 September deadline, Uefa added it wanted documents to be retained "relating to the payment structure for Fifa member associations, including the design, modelling, legal basis, approval and communications to member associations".

Uefa asked Infantino to acknowledge receipt of its letter in writing within five business days, to confirm he had "received and understood this notice" and that he has "taken immediate steps to preserve relevant materials as required".

    Love it!

It seems that the FA is not backing Infantino's continuation in his present role, along with Wales FA.  More sleepless night for the greedy git.

*Edit, they forgot to ask for the contents of their shredding machine.

"Clubs alarmed by Fifa’s delay of $250m Club World Cup solidarity cash - more than 50 have contacted EFC"

Interesting in the context of them trying to seek private investment.

Has that final between Morocco and Sengal been resolved yet…there were many appeals being thrown in?

    Infantino vows to carry on.

What has FIFA become when someone so openly corrupt can just carry on.  Absolute shambles.  It's (another) sad moment for football.  The likes of Arsene Wenger surprise me they want their name attached to the organisation in any way at all.

Unfortunately this seems to be the way things work now, doesn't matter how corrupt or how insane your actions are, you just need to wait it out until the next news cycle and it's forgotten

You just need the corrupt smaller federations which you are over generous to and where differing amounts get passed down to the grass roots but their officials are ultimately enriched. You are creating a corrupt dependency. Infantino himself is a corrupt dependency so will always put himself and his enrichment before the game. FIFA is also a closed shop so you get rid of him and you probably just get another one. It needs breaking up and starting again. Making Infantino and his mates richer is one of the reasons for totally following money. FIFA can basically print money but its success shouldn't be judged on how much money it makes. It is how it governs the game which the World Cup, whilst successful, demonstrated massive issues and unfairness. FIFA either has to be marginalised or break up from the inside which would mean there being a lot of turkey's voting for Christmas.

I think forming an alternative to FIFA is the answer although UEFA whilst better is far from perfect. The aternative has to be set up to prevent massive power and opportunities for enrichment for its members. It needs to be collborative. Then federations need to pull out of FIFA. The advantage they have is whilst the smaller countries have votes they don't have power from their status. It sounds harsh but over time FIFA would be decapitated and there would initially be an alternative World cup for those that leave FIFA. Unlikely but I think that is the answer. I can't see UEFA creating a perfect alternative as it would highlight its own imperfections which we all know are many.

If UEFA forms an alternative, what happens to all the Billions held by FIFA?

The world is full of men who crave power and the ability to enrich themselves. They don't care what they do to get it.

Infantino thought he could say sorry and that would be the end of the matter, glad to see that UEFA and others are not willing to let him carry on.

How arrogant of FIFA to say they will not tolerate attacks on their integrity. They must not be allowed to get away with it.

    1. The piece of 💩 award be given to Trump.
    2. The red card suspension being overturned.
    3. The selling of the tournament.

Any one of these should means he should go. He’ll try to hang and its up to the different associations to drive him out.

Can you name any women that act like Infantino, Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, that cling to power?

Oh please, we're not going to do this are we, rather than you just accepting the point?

OK then, I'll tell you one - my boss. There.
