I also think its quite an achievement that our support has held up as well as it has considering the relative success of palace, west ham and millwall over the last decade. Rodwell said we're on a good trajectory in that respect and we are but increasing the 20k average to say 25k is going to be a lot harder than say 14-15k to £20k without either promotion to the prem, very entertaining football and / or a collapse in our neighbours form and picking up some  floaters. I think GC underestimates the impact / amount of floating goes on between us and Millwall in particular.

We don’t really know what his day to day role sees him doing in relation to what NJ does.

My perception is that his role isn’t really full time / needs him to be there very much BUT he has a genuine football background beyond that of the rest of the ‘management’ team and therefore has some value if only via his ‘network’. 

I think NJ has intimated that JR is his go to if he needs something from the ownership. Just a chain of command thing. 

The laughable thing for me is the self obvious personal promotion by doing things like this event and the tired template approach to comms when we make a signing. Just a predictable corporate approach to these things.

You seem totally out of kilter with the ways of Comm teams everywhere over the last few years.

Do you remember the black and white scarves and what they represented regarding the owner and CEO/Coo etc ?

After the odious fantasist Matt Southall, I don't have strong views either way on Rodwell but he is still a breath of fresh air compared to Rancid Southall.

My point is it’s so formulaic every time. Just feels lazy and predictable. 

He is a footballer , don’t forget .  Not many people in football offer genuinely engaging insight .  I agree , the interviews are dull and he looks like he doesn’t want to be there 

The fucking pigeons need to come back they’re a relief and some excitement away from the tedium of some of our football last season

He was clearly only there because he had to be, seemed annoyed and frankly put out that he had to be answering to and dealing with us plebs.

To be fair if i had to deal with our "fans" who get pissed off by anything from the bar opening 1 hour early to attract more fans for a big match, being asked if they want milk in their americano to giving a beloved member of staff a lovely tribute upon them leaving but not having every single member of leadership in a video or the fact we dont conclude all business in public, I would be annoyed or put out to be there.

But when he is probably paid 200k plus a year he can get his White belt out there for two hours every six months and answer questions for the peasants.
