I liked him, a couple of underhit passes reminded me of Naby, and there was one point where Enslin was going to head the ball and Billy just thundered in and managed to head a through ball up the line to Tanto
    Christ , don’t excite Leuth

An absolute tank of a left footed centre back, who spent time at the Lyon academy. It is the new Naby

Seems like a very level headed guy, funny too. Let’s hope he plays as well as he talks.

Agree with the sentiments….. can’t put my finger on exactly why, and probably just going off my gut, but think he will be decent

training every day with VVD and up against Salah/Firmino/Mane - can't be many better/tougher introductions

Hope he's as good as he comes across, was a little tempered by Nathans comments after Dartford when asked about him he said something along the lines that he's not as good as Bell at some things but strong in other areas. I very much took that as physically there but technically not (yet hopefully). He'll deff be phased in throughout the season I would imagine, with an eye on next year and the year after if anything.

If a 23 year old defender was as physically strong as Koumetio seems and as technically strong as Bell is there is no way we could afford him. That’s why we need to gamble on potential

His physique and technical ability is probably what got him into Lyon’s academy and later a move to Liverpool. He also used to play as a winger.

Being a young defender I’d guess it’s more a question of consistency, reading the game well and not making mistakes that lead to goals.

I’m looking forward to seeing how he competes with Bell, it’s exciting that we have a player who could overtake one of last seasons best players if it works out as hoped.

Didnt realise that Billy was 6ft5in... Never got the impression that Olly was short, but Billy towers over him

He towered over Lloyd Jones at Dartford last week!

Looks like an absolute gem of a find on (very) early evidence - an absolute unit that can also play a bit. If he starts scoring a few headers from corners and free kicks hes more or less the complete deal for a CB honestly.

Big Bill is gonna become a crowd favourite. Technically great and you can tell he grew up at Liverpool. And an absolute unit to boot.

Superb find - what was he doing at Dundee?

They're actually normal sized shorts that keep getting pulled up by the minute!

He’d had injury issues including at Blackburn so can see why he needed to go down a level

He needs to stop pulling them when it gets to Kylie hot pants look or it will end up mankini levels.

  • Enjoyed watching him play yesterday - looks a good signing. Kept rolling his shorts up - it was amusing...

Has the feel of Ramsay about him in the way it’s come about. Young player from top level academy, drops level to get game time and is clearly too good for that level.

It’s early days and he still has stuff to learn but there’s clearly a very good player there. He seems to have all the attributes.
