86/1 after 23.1 overs, which is a decent start, but the ball is regularly beating the bat, particularly from Tom Helm. There have been several lbw shouts, all of which were probably going down the leg side, and a few edgy shots.2

At the end of the day, Parky is our main spinner, on a pitch which ought to give assistance. Parkinson's contract is up at the end of the season and we've seen with Evison that Hollioake is prepared to make big decisions. Would it really be that big a call, anyway, not to play Parkinson when he's only taken 5 wickets at 85.80 apiece this season and an E/R of 3.67 especially as Foreman has taken 2 wickets at 33.00 apiece with an E/R of 3.02? And Foreman is the better batter too.killerandflash said:

Tough session which Crawley 55* (87) and Northeast 31* (69) have done exceptionally well to negotiate.5 -
When he comes to bowl, I hope Quinn will make it through. He was wincing on a regular basis last Saturday (at Bromley), but maybe that's just how he is (it was the first time I've had him bowling at my end).
My humble opinion was that he bowled with good pace (he hit two Bromley players on the helmet!), but a bit too straight early on, with not enough on the fourth stump line. When did did so, he beat the bat a lot. He could have had two or three wickets on another day...
At least he didn't go out boozing in London with his Lordswood team-mates after the game so his prep should be OK...3 -

I don't think I've heard as many appeals as I have so far today. The ball has been doing a lot all day and for that reason 350 would be a decent score providing, of course, the pitch doesn't start to flatten out. In which case, it would be our own fault for electing to bat!3

There still haven't started at Old Trafford where Northants are the visitors. They are just two points behind and with more rain due tomorrow, a "no result" there and a win for us will help to increase the distance between us and them.4

The way the ball is seaming and swinging now I think I’d be very happy with 300. It has not been easy batting all day, so full credit to Crawley and SNE for their contributions.

Kent's innings has been a fearful one for those that are of a superstitious disposition. Both Compton and Muyeye made 13 and Northeast was out on what is considered an unlucky number (87) by Australians in being 13 short of his ton.
Our number 12, Extras, is facing a nervous time in being left stranded on 49*4 -
