We’ve bowled well but need to finish the job without conceding too many more runs

Follow on avoided by Middx (203/9), and they are now walking off for bad light.
it seems there is plenty of blue sky waiting for the clouds to open so hopefully the delay won’t be too long.

At last. Final wicket falls to Quinn courtesy of a very good diving catch by Ekansh in the outfield.

249 all out so a lead of 101 for Kent

One area where we were massive victors is that of extras - Middlesex gave us 57 as opposed to the 9 we gave them. That is massive in the context of a low scoring game.

Same old story. We allowed the last two wickets to add over a hundred runs.

13 overs to go after this one. Muyeye has edged two balls off this Roland-Jones over and was dropped off the second one!

What’s the light like? Will they get the overs in?

Bad. They’re going off now with 10 overs left, so that’s yer lot for the day. 38/2.

I was worried that getting to stumps without further wickets going down was looking tricky. Muyeye was lucky to survive that R-Jones over, and the drop at third slip was a bad one; it was straight at him into his breadbasket. So the light has done us a favour imo.
The forecast for the weekend looks better, so here’s hoping that Kent’s middle order can dig in and set Middx a big chase.

A stressful day on the cards tomorrow with both Kent & Charlton facing tough challenges.

Thankfully we weren't playing Surrey, who would have managed to sign Jaspit Bumrah as an injury sub for the match.

A good first hour for Kent. Muyeye has got his 50, and the lead is now 194.
Brigadier Block is also giving solid support to Muyeye.

Ideal circumstances for Compton to dig in for a big one to give us an unassailable lead
