If we're going to draw a line anywhere with AI can it be somewhere around using AI to make a joke about Jeffrey Epstein raping children please?27

Yup, not funny in the slightestUboat said:@Laddick01 Please delete.13 -
There is no way that the club purposefully holds off announcing a signing.....esp not one we've been "keeping our powder dry" for. Ok, maybe for 24 hrs if the player has something that needs tending to, but otherwise once the deal has been signed it will be announced.DOUCHER said:Hoping we've done the jrs deal but even if we haven't, it clearly shows we have the intent and the resources to go for a player that is gonna cost us a bit so hopefully an alternative if not jrs. I know nothing other than what i read on the message boards but my feeling is its done and will be announced at a time when it suits the club - same as TC. Maybe holding back to strengthen our position when selling players we need to get off the books due to numbers restrictions.
Do you think Palace would hold off announcing it just because we were trying to tie up a few lose ends with another club.
It it hasn't been announced its because he hasn't signed. I've a feeling we've been gazumped at the last minute.4 -
Not sure about guzumped but agree about not holding off annoucing, mainly as if we've made a record signing Jones will want him in the team.golfaddick said:

Virtually all our deals have been announced the day after all the media stuff was done from the looks of it. We know Grant was signed on a Friday and not announced until the Sundaygolfaddick said:

Low effort AI images are not only a scourge on this thread but society in general.Of the hundreds posted, a handful are funny, the rest are just terrible and a waste of resources and hurtful to the environment.Posting pictures of ‘that’ man on the previous page donning our sacred shirt is one of the most flaggable posts I’ve seen in a while … all because of good old AI …47

Depends on when the signings finished. If it was yesterday afternoon he isn’t eligible today anywayHenry Irving said:

Would it be the end of the world if we didn’t get this over the line? Apter hasn’t become a bad player overnight,(player of the month last august), and there’s Mili Alli and Grant in that position too. It’d be great if we do but I’d be comfortable going into the season with this squad. Just a thought from a long time reader, first time poster….be gentle 🥹10

I think some are reading too much into it. We know there is something there but the deal doesn't seem to have been done or I think it would have been announced. That isn't to say it won't be done. Same with TC, the minute he signs the contract, I'm sure it will be announced. There is no need to play silly buggers.1

How do you know and if so, why have they not announced it?Covered_End_Lad said:TC has definitely signed though2 -
Keep Apter or JRC over Docherty who needs to play in L1.sam3110 said:Okonkwo, Mannion, Brookes
Ramsay, Mcnamara
Jones, Sichenje
Koumetio, Bell
Mesík, Edwards
Coventry, Docherty
Ouma, Chalobah
Carey, Knibbs
Rak-Sakyi, Apter
Grant, Campbell, Alli
Leaburn, Godden, Kelman
Rankin-Costello, Burke, Kanu, Asiimwe, Kaminski out.
Could easily swap Docherty or Apter in for JRC or Burke, or even both.
Mwamba and Mbick to make the other 2 slots in the fabled 9-9-9 (that used to be 8-8-8)
Shame about Kanu, but better to sell now.

There has obviously been an error of judgement, maybe let them put it right before them being hung , drawn and quartered. Pretty sure the poster wasn’t trying to be anything other than funny and has missed the mark.Garrymanilow said:If we're going to draw a line anywhere with AI can it be somewhere around using AI to make a joke about Jeffrey Epstein raping children please?3 -
Flipping hell- Inniss, Stockley Kirk and who the fuck was Charles Clayden? Was he really that forgettable?MaxicoCity said:Our starting lineup four years ago yesterday:

Just not funny from @Laddick01. I’m sure you’re a nice guy and won’t be defensive about it. We all push boundaries when trying to be funny but just hold your hands up on that one2

The possibility that JRS was having a medical Thurs evening and it’s still not been announced might suggest we’ve been gazumped or Palace are playing silly buggers. I seem to remember Knibbs signing dragging on. My only hope is Cawley saying he was more confident it could happen.1

Plan B is needed because Pallarse will mess us aroundse9addick said:
Surely we’re capable of doing both at the same time and then, if we get JRS, all good and if not we have a back up.SteveACS said:
So, a question?MarcusH26 said:
This is my main concern is that Palace run this to the deadline and we end up short.ShootersHillGuru said:I’d like to think that there is a backup plan if JRS doesn’t sign but time isn’t on our side if we need to work on both deals and JRS goes to the wire.
Continue pursuit of JRS, and risk failing?
Or drop it, and pursue someone who we are guaranteed to get before the window closes?
And if you think option one... will you then blame the club and NJ for us being one player short?
(And, yes, I know there are no guarantees when it comes to transfers, but this is a hypothetical...)1 -

Some gossip yesterday from Palace’s side.
I was out for dinner with my brother-in-law and his Dad (a CEO for a huge international firm who’s a Palace fan, often tapped up by Palace hierarchy for sponsorship and very well connected with their boardroom) says the JRS deal is verbally agreed by all parties but Palace are waiting to see if a better offer comes in before signing off.
The talk was that Jes will need to push it through and ignore other interest (which exists), to stop things being dragged on to the end of the window.

If true I’d say that’s a pretty positive developmentSOTF said:Some gossip yesterday from Palace’s side.

I'm confident that the JRS signing will be announced Sunday in order to help us recover from, and stop us all talking about the thrashing that the 'ammers fans are confidently predicting.9

We should have just taken on Fevrier, then was could have saved the previous 200 pages and moved on.

If JRS was a Burnley level player there wouldn’t even be any discussions about him coming back we would have no chance of getting him.soapboxsam said:The Red Robin said:
Wrexham won’t miss a chance to overpay for a player.Crispywood said:Can’t see Wrexham or Burnley being interested. Wrexham for starters don’t even play with wingers and don’t think a recently relegated club in Burnley would look at Rak-Sayki and think he’s the type of player to help them back into the prem.
Do you remember these words when Phil Parkinson was a pundit/guest at the play off semi final when CAFC played Wycombe away:
"Charlton and Wrexham are in the same market for players."
I thought he said it tongue in cheek but as Cafc are trying to push the boat out to get Rak-Sakyi for around the 5 million mark then we are now at there lower end for players since they have been in the Championship.
Before they just paid higher wages and still do.
Unlike the myriad of CL members who say they are ITK I'm not but Burnley need a winger after selling Tchaound to Coventry in a potential 20 million deal.
So 5 million for JRS is not a problem for the yo-yo club.We have a level of bias when it comes to JRS as a player after what he did for us, other teams at this level will care more about how he did at Stoke and Sheffield United at championship level in the last 2 years opposed to what he did for a L1 club 3 years ago
I hope you're right Crispy but we are now in the age of the game changers and most teams using 16 players during the 100 minute duration of a match so JRS from the bench would certainly fit in at Burnley and Wrexham for that matter in my opinion.
If Rak-Sakyi does come to CAFC then you are correct about his time at Stoke and Sheffield United.
A big boost if both Rak-Sakyi and TC(signs new contract)could be available for CAFC this season. JRS would I'm sure prefer South London where his family and friends are, including CAFC players.

Gavin Carter is in Redwood with Brownie if anybody wants to ask him when JRS is signing......13
