I’m finding the absolute disbelief in the faces of the hammers fans in these videos so satisfying, it’s amazing how quickly a fan can become so entitled. They really did believe we were going to turn up for our tummies to be tickled, well you’ve seen the Charlton , now fuck off!!!😂

West Ham played like the stereotypical early season relegated side who didn’t scout the championship. Tikky takka possession but not trying to take on a defender, diving every minute, trying to hold onto the ball when pressed.  There was a moment in the first half that they had a free kick mid way in the attacking half.  Every other team in the championship would have brought their center halves up and launched into the box.  They took a quick kick backwards to just retain possession.  They have too much talent to be in a position like Leicester last year but they will be in for a rude awakening if they don’t adapt

I'll be straight, there will be a vlog for this, but, what should have been a celebration was a bit of a crap day for me.

I've been heckled by a total of 3 Charlton fans at games for vlogging. I've had one harass me for recording at the game (in the end he shut up when I confronted him), I've had one person repeatedly trying to disrupt my vlog and outside call me a c**t, to which I had to have a word (the lad apologised as you can imagine) and last season I had someone deliberately throw a pint on me, which I thought was an accident but when viewing footage back, saw the bloke blatantly aim it at me. Let it go cause I thought, football is full of twats.

Now today someone called me a pedophile and his reasoning was "because I capture young Charlton fans on vlogs". Now I didn't let it go, I spoke to him, but it got to a point where I just thought the only solution here feels like planting one on him.

I couldn't help but look at this guy, half my size and wondering what to do.

I walked away, but I have to say, it's the first time ever I have genuinely been rattled. Such a henious thing to be called and put a real downer on the vlog and day.

I expect to go to Millwall away etc and get grief, but I cannot fathom that someone who supports the same club as me would say something so sinister, and I am genuinely struggling to process it.
Don't let the Bastard's get you down mate.
Enough of us do appreciate your efforts 👏

Just out of interest, from those who went, what was the stadium like? As bad as people say? Atmosphere from the home fans? Presume it was good from you lot but is it easy to generate a good noise there?
The stadium was very nice with a surprisingly good view, considering the distance we were away from the pitch, but our seats were all covered with dirt.
I'm guessing that the recent rain splashed all the dirt up.
Fortunately, it was a safe standing area so I didn't use it much.
On top if that, my seat was also cracked and had a cable tie holding it together.
The route to the away end had a ridiculous detour to get to the entrance.
Finally, the queues to get back to the station were huge.
assuming you're talking about taking bridge 4. for future reference there's no need to go that way, you can take any of bridges 1-3 and just walk around the stadium

Really good to have 6 points as the fixtures look quite cramped soon. Especially the poor fixture making of:

    WBA (Away): 2nd Sept 7.45pm
    Stoke (Away): 5th Sept 12.30pm

Two away trips in a handful of days is hardly ideal and am sure the gaffer will have a solid rant!
  • Oh, couple of things...

Wonderful to win after the whole "you're all here on a record breaking day, biggest crowd at a Championship game" drivel before the game

Paul Konchesky got his score prediction wrong. 🤣🤣

We’re improving all over the pitch, aren’t we.
Really like Macnamara, thought he had a great game. Same with Grant. Both have energy to burn.
I’d almost written Miles off last season, but he’s looking like a proper player now. Let’s hope he can stay fit.
Okonkwo had a great debut. He’s going to make a big difference, not just defensively, but because his distribution is excellent.
Can’t wait for the window to close with TC still a Charlton player. Touch a massive sized piece of wood.

My wet spam mate was at the match and said we were shite and they were all over us. Said the ref was a cheat disallowing 2 goals for them and should have given them another pen. Reckoned our goals were both very lucky
I was sat in the West Ham end along the touchline. The first one, the ref clearly whistled well before the ball went in and the defenders had stopped. The other one, the ball was clearly out for a goal kick.

The penalty was a bit harsh but it wasn't point blank, Coventry was a good 4 or 5 yards away.

Perfect away performance, defended well and threatened on the break.

    Warning - a bit sweary!

I work on building sites, that was quite mild.

Didn't go and couldn't watch it so I have no right to comment other than to say - fantastic win - well done the lads and NJ.
Great start to the season and bodes well for a comfortable mid table finish.
Now lets go and give Spurs a bloody nose!
My Spurs mate is bricking it.

So I’m trying to ignore the last sentence which is absolutely Kenneth gif worthy😂, but agree with the rest and need to add the effect chalobah is having on us, to the point he hasn’t been mentioned much today like we know what to expect, good signs.👍

Don’t get too high with the highs and don’t get too low with the lows lads and lasses.

It’s a long old season, so let’s try and remember today when we inevitably have a poor run and can’t string 3 passes together.

The season and our form will ebb and flow but one thing is for sure, we as a club have come so far in the last 3 years, and are evolving in the right way.

    I fucking love this club

I didn't do the obligatory post-match "Can you hear me?" post as others had already done the honours.

But, to be blunt, they were fairly poor.

    So, here is my offering:

"Alf Garnett.  Anne Boleyn.  Ronnie and Reggie Kray.  Reg Varney.  Can you hear me ... ?"

Agree for the players who need to stay calm.  For the fans, fuck it.  Get really bloody high with the highs.. or what's the point?

I know we’re supposed to admire ‘passion’ but what a prick.
  • Doesn’t really get much better than that does it. The absolute perfect away performance. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Danny Dyer, Ray Winstone, David Gold, Russell Brand, Keira Nightly, James Cordon, Barack O’Bama, Lennox Lewis, Pixie Lott…..can you hear me? Your boys took one hell of a beating!
    You forgot David Cameron.

Bit too soon for a Jones statue imo, but an interesting maquette.   Hope the boat race is a little more forgiving than Emanuel Santos' Ronaldo.     Gets my vote.

I was in the West Ham end with a couple of Hammers mates. No fucking clue how I kept as quiet as I did. Absolutely brilliant performance and all the West Ham around me saying the best team won says it all.

    Prem here we come! :)

But seriously a fantastic start to the season and fantastic effort from the boys. Keep this up and we can do even better than we did last season, key will be to stay consistent.

Is the ginger lad a friend of yours or just likes to get in photos?
