Palace held out for the 5 mill plus adds this deal could go as high as 6 mill … if everything falls into place …. one of them conditions is our promotion to the premiershipWrightCharlie said:I'm not ITK but rumours from the Palace end are that we have agreed a fee for JRS...... oh, I do hope so, would love to see him in our red shirt on Wednesday/Saturday2 -
I’d still trust the fake journalist more than NixonScoham said:A slightly better source than the fake one earlier today.

This is going to be a really funny couple of days with the thread whipping itself into a frenzy with JRS rumours all for it not to be completed that day.The day it does happen is going to be fun!5

Premier League. They stopped calling it the premiership in 2007. The same year you managed to get something right.RonnieMoore said:

If we get JRS you'd hope the next few windows would be completely minimal changes required. Can just sign 1/2 players a window where strengthening is required rather than needing to sign 8 players each time. Incredibly exciting stuff!18

Things are now at the stage where only a massive offer from elsewhere would STOP JRS becoming a Charlton Athletic player

I don't believe Grant will be dropped if we sign Rak SakiSteveACS said:
I'm not anti JRS, at all. It's just everybody assumes he's going to be the dogs boll**** for us on zero evidence. And immediately discounting Grant, Alli, and Apter at the mearest hint of fake news that comes in. Hasn't Grant done enough already this season to, at least, be 'in possession of the shirt'?DDOUBLEE said:
Why are you so anti-JRS? Didn't even need to see the username to know it was youSteveACS said:(Sighs)
So, a fake twitter journalist puts up some fake news, and CL goes from slightly bonkers, full of people who spend too much time playing 'Football Manager', to bat shit crazy...
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. We're well covered on the right. No-one knows JRS is going to be better than Grant. And Grant has far more experience in the Championship than JRS. And we have cover with Apter and Alli. Maybe NJ has decided to look somewhere else? Maybe we should temper our expectations a little?
I see it as Rak Saki on the left
Campbell on his prefered Right
Grant playing more central behind the main striker
And that looks pretty good to me0 -

I think that will be the plan. Would think next summer the midfield will again be a focus, and probably striker unless Leaburn and Mbick kick on this season. But other than that it will just be replacing anyone that leavesPelling1993 said:If we get JRS you'd hope the next few windows would be completely minimal changes required. Wonder if Carey as a more marketable assets would make sense to be sold given need to keep Grant in the team2
-
Or we could stop trying to shoehorn Grant in to the team in a position he has hardly ever played so we have no idea if he’d be any good at. He’s much better out wideWoolwichAddick said:Wonder if Carey as a more marketable assets would make sense to be sold given need to keep Grant in the team
Carey was our top goalscorer last season, and is a key part of the team. He’s going nowhere
Grant will keep his place ahead of Rak-Sakyi if he keeps playing well. If you want both in the team and also TC then Grant can play striker, a position he’s actually played before6 -

Edit: @cfgs beat me to it0 -
Im convinced TC knowing about JRS is a factor in his improved performances, and him turning down a move.4

JRS might have contributed to him staying and signing a new deal. But the improved performances were always going to happen once he’d had a much needed rest this summer and also playing in his best positionEugenesAxe said:Im convinced TC knowing about JRS is a factor in his improved performances, and him turning down a move.24 -
It's going to be a squad game anyway this season , if TC is off on international duty you don't have to throw him back in straight away now we have KG and Alli that can also play there.
Same if Collins and Ouma are away with Kenya etc16 -
Yes Carey was our top scorer last season but he has looked off it so far this season. I think he can count himself lucky to be getting the spot ahead of Knibbs based on the PSF'sNabySarr said:
