So double unveiling video, TC sits at the desk contract infront of him, cameras flash.  But no pen panic ensues, calls are made.  Someone is bringing a pen, cut to the carpark and The World's most famous orange car pulls in, excitement builds but the actual owner gets out of the driver seat and rushes to reception and up to the boardroom where he realises he has forgotten his pen.  Luckily someone off screen hands him one and says you can use this but I need it back in a bit, TC signs and then gets up so JRS can sit down and sign his contract.

    Bored Daddy day care.

Wonder if Carey as a more marketable assets would make sense to be sold given need to keep Grant in the team
Or we could stop trying to shoehorn Grant in to the team in a position he has hardly ever played so we have no idea if he’d be any good at. He’s much better out wide

Carey was our top goalscorer last season, and is a key part of the team. He’s going nowhere

Grant will keep his place ahead of Rak-Sakyi if he keeps playing well. If you want both in the team and also TC then Grant can play striker, a position he’s actually played before
Grant has just as much experience playing in the 10 then he has as a solo no.9.

We don’t have any idea if Grant is good in the 10 so might as well try if it doesn’t work so be it and revert back to Carey.

Rak-sayki comes straight into a XI we aren’t a club that pays 5M for someone to sit on the bench. Carey is most at risk because TC Grant and Leaburn have started the season better (no disrespect to Carey whatsoever).

Don't think it will be as simple as someone first choice and the other second. The more we rotate our wingers the better we'll be able to maintain our press.
This ^ I wouldn't be surprised if we rotated wingers on a Saturday - Tuesday week of fixtures just to keep the press up.

I'm not ITK but rumours from the Palace end are that we have agreed a fee for JRS...... oh, I do hope so, would love to see him in our red shirt on Wednesday/Saturday
Palace held out for the 5 mill plus adds this deal could go as high as 6 mill … if everything falls into place …. one of them conditions is our promotion to the premiership
Premier League. They stopped calling it the premiership in 2007. The same year you managed to get something right.
    Brilliant!

It's taken a while for me to get my head around looking beyond a team's "Best XI", but I think you need to now. The game has evolved so much with the 5 subs and increased intensity.

I'm not even sure how bothered players are starting games now if they are getting regular 45-60mins. They're moaning about playing too much if anything!

We need a good to great 14/15 players and it looks like we're heading in the right direction.

Grant won’t play 46 games, so we need options and back up

If this signing does happen I really really really want JRS to be filmed getting out of that car !!! if the guy does work for the club that must be possible

It’s the annual tradition that every time the squad looks like it’s getting too strong we start speculating that we might need to sell one of our better players or shoehorn someone into the team out of position in order to avoid leaving out certain players.

Injuries, suspensions, players being better or worse than expected, a fall out or maybe a surprise sale/loan out will sort it out for us soon enough.

If not, maybe we’ll make more progress than expected. We’re well overdue a mid table or better Championship season.

  • Things are now at the stage where only a massive offer from elsewhere would STOP JRS becoming a Charlton Athletic player

So it’s in Burnley’s hands then.

Let’s see how much they rate JRS

Not all of these are solo 9 but a decent chunk
of them are. Some of them at premier league level

I mean some players probably are going to have to go,  from the squad limit rules if nothing else. But which players and whether any of them are amongst our "best" remains to be seen.

Looks like a matter of when opposed to if. Could be why we’re holding back the TC contract news

Can anyone record themselves doing some positive noises so I know what to listen out for.

I wonder if delay is more Palace side than JRS. Possible they want more upfront and we are keen for it to be more add-ons, and they are hoping someone else comes in and says here’s £5m immediately.

Easily what they’re doing, but they can’t hang on forever were one of very few clubs who can afford the price and need a starting RW unless he suddenly goes abroad.
