I think it has to be. Buy, develop and sell. And having our assets on long term contracts really helps, not being forced to sell so we can drive the most amount of value.DamoNorthStand said:I am starting to think that, a la the Millwall model, we are gonna have to shift someone on for c£10m or so in order to take that next step.
Develop, sell, invest.
Ramsay and TC probably represent our best chance of that at the moment. Maybe Mwamba and Mbick in the future.8 -
We still have jones bell koumetio and Ramsay who can arguably all still play centre half and even Burke we don’t know but maybe0
-
Now do Conor!!!!!!25

I wasn’t expecting 4 years for Ramsay, that’s a really great bit of business. Must show how much we’ve progressed over the summer if we’re tying down players we worried would be running their contracts down until recently for this long6

Hope we do and that you get a share of the fee Leuth.3

It would have to be something significant if Burke sailed through his medical 😬Airman Brown said:
I guess we’ll be able to judge the salience of that if he gets a permanent move in this window. I’m saying there is an issue which emerged at Charlton and was a factor in the deal being aborted. It’s a big investment for us, and let’s face it we not done brilliantly with fees in recent windows. I don’t know if it could have been done without that issue but Charlton pulled out.Bolderhumphreyreid said:
So it’s not a medical issue or it is a medical issue???Airman Brown said:
No, because it’s not just about his representation. Clubs won’t talk about issues with medicals if they can avoid it, because it damages the player’s prospects of a move elsewhere, which is unfair. Journos won’t often go there because clubs won’t talk publicly about the personal situation of players they don’t sign.Henry Irving said:OK, wild uninformed speculation here but could the club be trying to pressurise JRS and/or his agent by letting this news get out?
Nathan’s comments last night were a sledgehammer attempt to place the blame elsewhere (albeit he was clearly upset by the injuries). It wasn’t very credible, albeit well intended. This is why clubs don’t like “about to sign” stories. There can be more than one stumbling block with a deal. In this case it’s neither club to blame and hard to know how JRS has got himself in a mess over his representation. But it’s not the full story.1 -
It's 50% to West Ham, 5% to Hype Man (Leuth)Alwaysneil said:Hope we do and that you get a share of the fee Leuth.
That being said, I wholeheartedly agree. I would tie CC down now before he has a successful Championship season as part of a double pivot.1 -
Those colours make it look like he signed for Spurseastterrace6168 said:
...Great news...another 4 year extension.4 -
No Cawley piece on it unusual for him, reckon he’s trying to tie it in with some other news?2

He usually has something out pretty quickly. Expect if this was rushed out to soften the blow of JRS he might have been caught blindsided?Crispywood said:No Cawley piece on it unusual for him, reckon he’s trying to tie it in with some other news?1 -
No medical for him.then 😆Sword65pf said:The good news is an extension to our currently injured player!!!, I’m being flippant, it is good news, get fit soon Kayne, think we really going to need you👍0 -
Would be happy for Coventry to sign a 2yr, decent squad player if he gets displaced by better.
Let’s not forget his current CM partner is extremely injury prone.8 -
Any chance we convinced TC and Ramsay we were going to sign JRS to get them to stay and as soon as they had we pulled the deal? 😂26

A 2 yr deal is only a 1 yr extension0

or they know something we don't and the deal is still ON!!??!!RC_CAFC said:Any chance we convinced TC and Ramsay we were going to sign JRS to keep them to stay and as soon as they had we pulled the deal? 😂2 -

Or he's been busy digging into what happened with JRS (and what is and isn't repeatable) and hasn't come around to this one yet.FishCostaFortune said:
