We have no evidence yet that Edwards is either match fit or recovered to where he was a year ago after his serious injury. He will have to be both to make it in the Champ.Danny Addick said:
So do we have 3 left backs then in Edwards, Bell and Mesik? I assumed Mesik would cover can as well as we don’t need 3, surely?Garrymanilow said:
No, but Billy has a history of injuries, we're clearly not confident about playing Mesik or Bell at CB in a 4, Collins is likely to be out for the season and Burke can't be relied on so I'd still expect him to be playing a lot of football. Lloyd also really could have done with being left out at points last season to recover so having a CB who is comfortable on the right or left and could realistically take the shirt off one of the others is a great spot to be in. Wouldn't be that surprised if he got in and kept Billy out based on how highly rated he isTeeC said:So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine4 -
Perfect for us then. Welcome to Charlton, Andres Martin!JoshAddick said:Well he’s just gone off injured2 -

I think we'll be looking for someone with Championship experience.2

Golfie, everyone was in despair before we kicked a ball when they saw the line up... they just changed horses mid stream!golfaddick said:
I'm not being negative I was simply posting that on Wed evening everyone on here was in despair due to NJ post match comments......but now things don't seem that bad as both Burke & Billy could be back much sooner than we thought.Brownie12 said:
You mean the same bloke who got us out of league 1, kept us up and wants to progress? The bloke wears his heart on his sleeve…he doesn’t hide in laundry baskets or post videos of his morning walks.golfaddick said:
No, I'd rather someone who didnt go into a strop & start saying "well, that's our transfer window fucked now then" leaving everyone to guess what he is talking about and then worrying for nothing.Brownie12 said:
Golfie would rather Karel Fraeye was still manager and we were in 23rd place with one game to play and 4 points adrift of staying up.DennisBooth said:
I don’t have a problem with him wearing his heart on his sleeve. I like managers to be passionate. To help him you can surround yourself with calmer people.golfaddick said:
So NJ's hissy fit after the match on Wed was premature & unnecessary.DDOUBLEE said:
They aren't even that bad. 1 or both could be involved tomorrowgolfaddick said:
I didn't think they would be. Back after the International break in a month or so.fenaddick said:NJ's presser sounds like Koumetio and Burke's injuries aren't serious
Great we have a cool & calm manager who doesn't throw his toys out of the pram at the first sign of trouble.....🙄Why guess what he is talking about and worry? He’s the manager - it’s his problem with what goes on - if he wants to have “a strop” so what? He’s done it for a reason. Seriously, do we have a really have the right to know every thing that goes on? Do we need to get answers immediately? No we don’t. People pay their money to support the team - if you don’t like the way it goes - don’t go to games - save your money. …And certainly don’t have a melt down at every opportunity. What’s the point in stressing it? We all want Charlton to do well. But it’s Charlton - it’s not Real Madrid.I don’t understand why you have to be so fucking negative all the time. Why not enjoy where we are at right now? We could be playing Accrington away tomorrow.
I really think some of you are not great on comprehension or (as I think is more likely) look at who the poster is & immediately turn on them. Ronnie is the most "put opon" on here, and I seem to not be far behind him.
I just take a different slant in things than most people. I am not a yes man and dont follow the crowd. And I call a spade a spade, even if it might go against the grain on here.0 -

DKD will be off before the end of the window. Probably have to be a loan to an L1 club.1

I hope not, he's been absolutely ruined by injuries and only played 19 league games since 2023,Redguy12 said:I do wonder if Reyes Cleary or Solly March are on our list of potential targets.October 2023: Suffered a major ACL tear resulting in a 14-month layoff.December 2024: Faced further complications and muscle strength loss around the joint.April 2025: Sustained a subsequent knee injury that required an 11-month recovery period.4 -
Wouldn’t want DKD hasn’t made the step up wellMarcusH26 said:DKD will be off before the end of the window. Probably have to be a loan to an L1 club.3 -
I thought "Solly March" used to refer to one of our full backs and when he was likely to be fit to play.7
-
Oh I'm not saying I'd want him at all I don't think he's what we are after, I don't even really know if he's up to this level or if he's one of those players that tears up League 1 and then just can't make the leap to the Champ.AberystwythAddick said:

Dobbo not involved for Wrexham tonight vs Birmingham. Could be on the move?0
-
I'd expect so. The Ben Whiteman signing won't have helped things and they've got plenty of depth in midfield now.Lazy_eye_metaphor said:Dobbo not involved for Wrexham tonight vs Birmingham. Could be on the move?
Will be interesting to see where he ends up0 -
Not only that, I like Cleary but he’s a left-winger and we’re after someone for the right so it’s a non-starter.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Will be a huge shame if/when he goes. Been a fantastic captain.
One who will be welcomed back with open arms in years to come.
Promotion winning captain and a true 100%er85 -
I hope we do go back for JRS really think he could make a difference in this side, especially with TC on the other wing. No idea why it's fallen though he doesn't seem particularly injury prone maybe it will be a late night deadline day deal. He needs to get away from Palace to further his career8
