It’s almost like our players better fitness and conditioning really helped in the 2nd half.

Leaburn, Grant, Coventry, TC, for me, in that order.

I mean what more is there to say really? Excellent team performance. We kept going even when Preston were pressing well and we were struggling to break them down. This season we have the players and the form to nick a goal even when we're not brilliant. Bit of luck but you make your own luck.

Second half we really controlled the game. Something we didn't do last year. For as much as today was a battling team performance (which is still brilliant), it also maybe best showed our evolution in that when we come up against a stubborn side, we can still break them down without relying on a long throw or set piece (I know technically the goal was a recycled set piece but you know what I mean).

A word for our new double pivot. Coventry was absolutely picking them apart and his ball out to Alli led to the goal. Chalobah dropped deeper to provide the extra man and his touch is so, so good. For as good as Mwamba was, we'll miss Chalobah if he's out for any length of time. Class player.

Get Coventry a new contract next please.

Brilliant day for the club. Brilliant day for the academy. Tough week bookeneded by two wins, a 100% record, and WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

They deserved to lose more than we deserved to win.

Jones on this list ahead of Mesik is criminal. Jones is always this good but WHAT a display from our new box to box psycho
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until it catches on: Mesik looks good getting off the bus.

Jones headed everything,  and one great bit of defensive cover in the 1st half.

Mesik was positionally a bit erratic in the first half, much better in the second

I said Alli was woeful Wednesday. I think k may have judged him too early based on today's performance.

Mwamba is some talent and great to see him getting involved in the celebrations at the end.

Probably the most comfortable 1-0 win we'll see this season. Lloydy was imperious and I thought the whole back 4 looked in control all game, that one missed header apart (from 2 yards out lol). Okonkwo didn't have much to do but the whole defence just look so much more assured with him in place of Kaminski.

First half was, well, meh.  The change at half time really upped the momentum and it became a matter of time before we scored.  Not good to see Chalobah go off but Mwamba was a more than able replacement.

Alli was excellent today. People comparing him to Apter after the spurs game are way off the mark - he has pace and strength, both of which Apter lacks.

Leaburn put in a warrior's performance, even tracking back and getting blocks in. Also came close to converting a couple of crosses. He's looking really sharp and deserves to get off the mark soon.

TC was a threat all game and put in some good crosses with his left foot (yes, really). Grant is such an intelligent footballer with his movement and industry. It looked like the keeper should have saved his shot in real-time but on the replay, it was a good finish.

Buzzing off the 3 wins. West Brom's going to be tough but who'd bet against us on this form.

Do you have something against 18-year old Bosnians?

Perfect timing for another win too. Hopefully the owners can see what backing Jones with some cash brings. A busy few days ahead please. I think PNE are in some real trouble this year.

I was at the game - brilliant win.

Great team performance and Muamba is one hell of a player. Hard to see how Carey gets ahead of him next game.

3 points well deserved and a fantastic team performance. We won’t be near the top at the back of the season so we should enjoy it whilst we can. Injuries will weaken us too much as at the moment we don’t have squad depth.

Mwamba is going to be a proper star !

Mesik looks like a great signing and thought Bell was good playing LCB. Shame about Chalobah but so lovely to have an academy graduate slot in so nicely and play so well. Very impressed with Miles as well today and so far this season in general. Miles looks miles better than last season

Alli & Mwamba were superb when they came on. Changed the game.

Mbick is nowhere near ready to be playing in the championship. The boy needs a league 1 loan imo
Thought Mbick was fine. The only player with legs to help him really was Mwamba and everyone else was hanging back anyway. He’s still learning, give him time
Technically still looks very raw, but bullied a couple of their defenders physically a couple of times. He’s sort of the opposite of Leaburn at his age. With teenage Miles you were wowed by the touch for a big man but felt he needed to learn to use his size and strength to his advantage more. Which is he beginning to do in spades.

Mbick knows how to use his strength but needs to tidy up the technical side.

Hopefully we’ll have Kelman back soon who can offer something different on the bench, but Mbick ain’t a bad option if you need someone to come on and keep knocking 7 shades out of a centre half after Leaburn punches himself out.

And Mbick is only going to get better. As long he’s getting enough minutes to keep his development progressing, I’d rather have him here working with our coaches.

Another one who thought Mbick actually did ok today - his best cameo by far. We know he is so good at holding it up and his strength can bring people into play.... I would be happy to have 4 striking options as Leaburn, Kelman, Godden and Mbick..... but wouldnt surprise me if another comes in next week.
