A quality listen although I missed the goal as it was feeding time in the barn 😹
I hope Chalobah is OK? But Mwamba deserved to come on after his cameo on Wednesday, he's some talent 👏👏👏7 -
Think its a stretch to say Grant's goal was a good finish. It was heavily deflected but he did very well to get a firm shot off from his starting position.crookester said:Probably the most comfortable 1-0 win we'll see this season. Lloydy was imperious and I thought the whole back 4 looked in control all game, that one missed header apart (from 2 yards out lol). Okonkwo didn't have much to do but the whole defence just look so much more assured with him in place of Kaminski.
First half was, well, meh. The change at half time really upped the momentum and it became a matter of time before we scored. Not good to see Chalobah go off but Mwamba was a more than able replacement.
Alli was excellent today. People comparing him to Apter after the spurs game are way off the mark - he has pace and strength, both of which Apter lacks.
Leaburn put in a warrior's performance, even tracking back and getting blocks in. Also came close to converting a couple of crosses. He's looking really sharp and deserves to get off the mark soon.
TC was a threat all game and put in some good crosses with his left foot (yes, really). Grant is such an intelligent footballer with his movement and industry. It looked like the keeper should have saved his shot in real-time but on the replay, it was a good finish.
Buzzing off the 3 wins. West Brom's going to be tough but who'd bet against us on this form.6 -
And both those teams got automatically promoted.fenaddick said:

Going to pop to the club shop during the week to buy the away shirt. I’ll be wearing it on holiday the following week, the girlfriend will moan but he-ho.10

This is the first time we’ve won the first three games of a second tier season since 1992-93.16

1-0 was about right, with signs of real potential from many of our younger players.
Not getting carried away with our league position, but we're going to be absolutely fine this season.4 -
100% karlan to score winner at west brom14

Imagine how good he’d be if the ref gave him even half the fouls that get committed on himValley11 said:Miles Leaburn ..... take a bow

Mwamba came on for Chalobah. Think the latter might be out for a few weeks.

Great team performance. Good against a team with low quality who are happy to sit back and disrupt the game as much as possible.Lots of good performances but felt Leaburn was a stand out.Mwamba is brilliant isn't he? Couple of bad decisions but feel that won't happen in the next game as the way he has been spoken about, he will listen and correct it next time.Happy with a draw Wednesday but why can't we sneak a win!?7

It’s the sole team. Plenty of teams have won their first 3 before but this is only the 3rd time there’s only a single team across the leagues that have done itStig said:
If that's true, it's incredible. Surely the chances of a team winning three on the spin are far better than that.fenaddick said:

You could see it in the Derby game, Grant is better-suited playing in the ‘ten’ than Carey is in this new system.fenaddick said:

I reckon Chalobah might struggle to regain his place if Alan keeps playing like he does.Weegie Addick said:Mwamba came on for Chalobah. Think the latter might be out for a few weeks.2 -
Again, week 3 doesn’t mean that much, but can anyone remember, or knows how to look up, when we were last points clear at the top of a League Table? I don’t recall it occurring since The end of Powell’s League One winning campaign 15 years ago, but my memory ain’t the best.4

Still fuming about the spurs team selection.42

Apart from when he nearly scored during his 15' cameo and the save won us a corner.Pelling1993 said:Alli & Mwamba were superb when they came on. Changed the game.
Mbick is nowhere near ready to be playing in the championship. The boy needs a league 1 loan imo

I said on preview we would win 3-1 and go top of the Championship 💪🏻 probably for 1 week only with Millwall and West Brom having tough away games.
I will take 1-0 against our Nemesis Preston.
No bar steward team like North end beat Charlton Athletic 7 times in a row 😤 and they didn't 😀
Sorry for you all who made the trip to Spurs but as I highlighted on Wednesday, Alan Mwamba was a positive and will be a regular in our 16 players used in matches and personally I think he will be a regular starter soon as Chalobah will have game management to get him through the long season and is Ouma anywhere near ready ?
Hopefully Timothy can get up to speed but the intensity is so much more than he has experienced.
I really liked the look of Alli yet we had comedians writing him off after 5 minutes on his debut when he was defending ! I think he will excite and gives Charlton great width with TC on the other side or replacing TC when he has a quieter game from the bench.
If Carey can't find his best form then he will start on the bench soon but that is Nathan's shout and I trust his judgement. I still believe Sonny could score 10 goals in 26/27 season but not sharp in the League so far.
9 points from 9 and the only 100% record in the EFL.
Try to enjoy the Journey as we prove the bookies wrong and about 25% of our fan base !

There was a moment when he clattered into their centre half going for a header and left him sprawled on the floor while Miles strolled away. It was late, and aggressive and he knew exactly what he was as doing and I absolutely loved seeing from him. There are very few players who will out muscles Mean Miles and when you add in his natural touch and technique that will make him close to unplayable, as a target man, when on form.fenaddick said:
Deserves a goal real soon. If he can get that he could really kick on and fly.23 -

I think Mbick is very green, which is understandable... But you can clearly see the potential there with himDamoNorthStand said:Exiled_Addick said:
Technically still looks very raw, but bullied a couple of their defenders physically a couple of times. He’s sort of the opposite of Leaburn at his age. With teenage Miles you were wowed by the touch for a big man but felt he needed to learn to use his size and strength to his advantage more. Which is he beginning to do in spades.fenaddick said:
Thought Mbick was fine. The only player with legs to help him really was Mwamba and everyone else was hanging back anyway. He’s still learning, give him timePelling1993 said:Alli & Mwamba were superb when they came on. Changed the game.
Mbick is nowhere near ready to be playing in the championship. The boy needs a league 1 loan imoMbick knows how to use his strength but needs to tidy up the technical side.
Hopefully we’ll have Kelman back soon who can offer something different on the bench, but Mbick ain’t a bad option if you need someone to come on and keep knocking 7 shades out of a centre half after Leaburn punches himself out.And Mbick is only going to get better. As long he’s getting enough minutes to keep his development progressing, I’d rather have him here working with our coaches.
Another one who thought Mbick actually did ok today - his best cameo by far. We know he is so good at holding it up and his strength can bring people into play.... I would be happy to have 4 striking options as Leaburn, Kelman, Godden and Mbick..... but wouldnt surprise me if another comes in next week.5 -

The least said about the first half the better. Something had to change, thankfully it did. Grant to the 10 role was the right call and in my opinion the intention when he signed once we get JRS or another RW in. Saying that Alli did very well and certainly influenced the game. Leaburn was outstanding as was Coventry, Danny Mac, Lloydy and Bell. TC had a very good game once switched to the left and caused Clarke and co no end of problems. Chalobah kept things ticking over but his injury curse has struck again.
However, special mentions in dispatches for Mesik and Mwamba. Both were outstanding. Mesik making his full league debut never really put a foot wrong, really grew into the game and don't forget he was the only one to do 90 minutes on Wednesday too. Was happy to get stuck in and happy to get forward when he could. Certainly an introduction to English football for our 19 year old Croat.
Mwamba, well he really impressed. Don't want to put too much pressure on him but looks like we have a proper player on our hands. Expect to see him start on Wednesday if Chalobah is out.
Mbick, I really don't quite see it at the moment. If we can get another striker in then I think a season long loan somewhere would benefit him more than ten minutes cameos here and there. He's not likely to get enough game time with us unlike Mwamba who I think we will see a lot of as the season progresses.
Not impressed with Onkonkwo, didn't make a single save, useless 😁4
