Worried this is the sort of one that turns into a long time out. Hopefully its nothing. Surely we could have taken him off at 65ish mins if we knew he was struggling just for a bit more protection.4 -

Leaburn on the pitch: 5-0
Leaburn off the pitch: 0-2
He came on against Derby at 0-1 and we immediately became more effective. He came off at West Ham at 2-0 and thereafter the ball didn't stick for us going forward.6 -

Dull first half but came alive in the 2nd
solid at the back and the subs all played their part.
Mwamba is absolutely class, he’s gonna make it difficult not to pick him if he carries on like that. We looked much better with Grant in the 10
Alli also surprised me on the right, very direct and a great first touch to set up the goal.
think our midfield will chop and change a lot this season but Coventry will be a bit of a mainstay, a lot of his work goes unnoticed, can see him having various different partners
Leaburn is finally turning into the beast we all hoped he would, he was superb today11 -

First half we couldn't play it out from the back because their press was better than ours and our midfield weren't able to hold on to the ball. The second half changes made all the difference with Alli and Mwamba being the standouts. Jones deserves a lot of credit for making the changes and making them early.5

This has been one of my favourite weeks. Firstly, had an early 70th birthday party that was surprisingly my favourite decade party, then had an unexpected all clear after a colonoscopy, then yesterday found out that it looks like I have a publisher for my Minnie/Jimmy Seed book. Now this. Top of the flippin’ league!Poor first 35 minutes, but we started to put it together when Chalobah dropped deeper. The second half was great, and so pleased for Alli, Mesik and Mwamba who all showed what they can do.

Glad to read Alli impressed- I was at Spurs and I thought every time he got the ball, he tried to do something positive. Was very suprised at the stick he got considering the context of opposition and our starting XI against them

It’s being a club that is often underestimated but gives anyone a game (midweek this week aside!).
Something you can be proud of, even if it may seem unglamorous and “dull” to ignorant outsiders.
It’s what I grew up with and fell in love with. That is what my Charlton is, at least. And boy have I missed it.
God, I hope this holds for more than a couple of months this time.1 -

Alan Mwamba, he has a very bright future. Seldom have I been so enthusiastic over a player.Anyway the game, 1st 45 minutes nothing much happened but after the break we looked a different team and deserved the win. Another day we would have won this match with at least another goal but give credit to PNE they were solid although lacking a bite.I felt the team really put shift in today, I was impressed by their work rate.4

Said after the game in Slovenia that Mesik looked a good signing, but i think he will become a real fan favourite.
Has looked comfortable in every position we've tried him in, isn't afraid to take the ball forward and also loves to clatter the opposition. He's quality13 -

The work Grant, TC and Alli did off the ball was outstanding.The fact they can turn it on and devastate at the other end with pace and skill is the biggest difference from last season.I’m still eyeing up 50 points because we always seem to start well in the Championship and it soon goes to shit. That said, it will be much more exciting to watch than last season, regardless of the outcome.Genuinely unbelievable start.Love it, UTFA! ❤️25

Personally, I think for a team in our second season back at this level without Hollywood money, our squad depth is excellent, if you consider we've got maximum points despite missing Ramsay, Kelman and Edwards all season, and losing Mannion, Koumetio, Sichenje, Godden, Burke and now Chalobah to injury.BigDiddy said:

Fought hard to survive last season and took it to the penultimate weekend to secure safety
Transitioned to a new formation and trying to improve our attacking approach
It may all come crashing back down to earth and we lose our next 2, such is the nature of this league, but these points are absolutely vital. Target 55, I’ll keep repeating it as it will be a long hard season, and safety is paramount, but hats off to the owners, NJ and the team for what they’ve achieved this month and over the last 2 seasons.
I’m yet to go to a league game so hoping I’m not going to ruin it for everyone when I go to the QPR game Weds week, but well pleased for all the fans that have got to the games and seen the wins, they deserve it
Little signs are important and we’ve persistently struggled against Preston for years, particularly at this level. They’re a typical mid table, established Championship team. Today we beat them. On the opening day we came from a goal behind to win. That wasn’t us last season.The next two are tough, our squad is stretched already, but if Stoke lose to Norwich on Tuesday, there’s pressure on them when we play them
I’d bite your hand off if we get 3 points out the next two
if we can get a few quality loan signings to get us through the injuries that would be great. At least one defender, another midfielder and maybe a forward will help us from overplaying our key players.
Leaburn and TC are now proper championship players and Muamba and Mbick have real potential.
Amazing atmosphere at the match today, with the crowd well behind the team.
The injuries are a problem, which will probably catch up with us in the 2 games a week run coming up. But it's a credit to our depth that we could still stick out a decent team today.20 -
The best part of today is that the absolute bell-end that sat somewhere behind me seems to have either moved seats or stopped going.
Every game for the last 2 seasons he's been moaning about Campbell and Small (when he was here). Both were "useless" and "lazy" every game.
The pinnacle was last season when Ramsay booted the ball at TC from 6 yards away..the guy's response "FFS Campbell, control the bl00dy ball". Knowing my luck, he's just been on holiday and will be back for QPR 😆21 -
Wonder if Kelman may occupy the 10 slot when he returns; I don't hate it as an idea.2
