Edozie wants out, wants regular football, knows NJ

this sounds quite s lot like Thierry Small
Why get another winger who is most comfortable on the left ? Makes no sense

Need a new scapegoat now TC has put it together and Kaminski is gone

From Edozie’s post it appears that Southampton want a big sell on clause. They clearly see value in him an are not willing to let him go for any less than what they see fit.

Hes going to be out of our price range I think

Looks like we’ve missed out on Ethan nwaneri, just signed for dortmund.
I e said this before. We were never interested in Nwaneri, we are waiting for Max Dowman 😂

I see Sam Edozie has submitted a transfer request at Southampton. Beths boy, played at Southampton under NJ, winger who has played on both sides...
Part of a Beths team alongside Lewis Bate. Best team my old school has ever seen. Won the lot.
Still completely bizarre to me that happened. I joined Beths in 2010 and it was very much a rugby first school with football sidelined. Sadly the switch happened a bit too late for me, not that I was ever a good player anyway!
When I was at school, Wilmington grammar, we played BETHS and absolutely pumped them every time as it was a rugby school.  Strange how things change
It's probably the reason we choose Beths over Dartford, Wilmington and Gravesend, it being a rare football grammar made it first choice.

Just walked past the Valley Cafe and saw Jesrun Rak-Sakyi and Jordan Holsgrove having a heated debate over a full English Breakfast.. Although the food wasn't the debate, Jes still squirted Jordan with the ketchup and said something like: "That'll go well with your new Football shirt", winked at me and went back to his hash browns!!

Not for me until I hear it from the dog walker and the local barbers near Sparrows lane 👁️👁️

Catching up. So we arent bringing in a winger then?!
Feels like we were so close to having a full squad!

I was at Beth's from 88-95, strong football team at the time with plenty of players in various academies (or equivalent). Most didn't make it prop, but Rob Quinn went on to play for Palace in the Prem.

It'll never happen under Jones but I'd also deregister Brooks and bring in another striker but there you go

It won't happen under any Premier or Championship team to have only 2 keepers registered.
There's 5 championship clubs with only 2 keepers registered currently

They must have confidence in their U21 keeper to be the back up number 3.

Not giving up on Knibbs after a mauling against Spurs in a weakened team. Ridiculous.

Has a lot to offer and think he will be fine once he has some more minutes in the league.
    Where are
those minutes coming from. Costello-rankin and mwamba are being played ahead of him from the bench
Carey's form is patchy at the moment so Knibbs will get some time with squad rotation at the very least.

Just a reminder for those that literally live on this one thread, we’ve another one here to cover non-Charlton transfer activity

    https://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/101714/summer-2026-non-charlton-championship-transfers-deadline-day-p19#latest
Fair enough - Millwall’s recent winger signings felt relevant here as they were mentioned as potential suitors for JRS
maybe but using the m word means we might get this one contaminated with our resident m fan - lets keep him quarantined in his own thread if we have to have him somewhere on here please - if anybody needs to use the m word can we just use the word 'marshmellow'

Surely for most of the championship there will be minimum movement going on in comparison to previous years as they are all playing.

Wasn’t Richard Chin in that team too?

Absurd that they could’ve had 3 future Pros in the side.
Yes and Euan Williams who came through our academy and now plays for Dover
And Chin at Ross Co in Scotland

For me - I would like to see a RW and someone who can play in this 10 role.. I don't think we have anyone that is really suited to that role.

Only Knibbs Grant and Carey …. Knibbs was excellent in pre season and really linked up well with Grant very unlucky not to start the season
They are not a natural number 10. They are players that playing as 10!
We don’t need a traditional ten in this system.

I just assumed they went to an approved school !

I must have said it before but we could have worked our way to a body parts XI had Richard Chin and Ralfi Hand broken through.

    Cleary from Barnsley?
I know I mentioned Odozie earlier but Cleary is another left sided winger isn't he? Exciting as he is, that feels too many left wingers

Shame for Holsgrove, CDM could have been him.

Good for the moaners, when we lose a game they can point out NJ said we wouldn’t sign players from L1.

would defo take Gilbert on a free can take set pieces and would be a lot more creative then Carey or knibbs in the ten.
Not good enough for Middlesbrough, but good enough for us?

Look at the table, mate. We're better than that.
