    Winger and CDM
     both out of league 1
Be a big anticlimax, that... Winger will be Tyrese Shade or Reyes Clearly if that's the case

Reyes Cleary is probably the standout League 1 winger but again is predominantly left sided.

fair to say Holsgrove has mis managed this window if he was after a move

Yeah probably reduced his minutes at his current club as a result!

Interesting that both signings could come from League One
Dont really care where a player signs from, regardless what Jones says, provided they're good enough - We got a gem in Kayne Ramsay from a level below where we were, same with Corey Blackett-Taylor, so no point pretending that anyone stepping up is going to be an instant failure, there is just more risk.

    Cleary from Barnsley?
I know I mentioned Odozie earlier but Cleary is another left sided winger isn't he? Exciting as he is, that feels too many left wingers
Agreed, he’s like the only winger I can think of from league one that could make the step up.

Not including Leicester as the wages their players will be on is too much for us

Certainly wouldn’t be an anti climax if we get Cleary he’s worth around 4m and would be a statement signing when half of the champ want him.

Unless we're challenging Portsmouth for Shade @ Burton?
Can I clutch at straws and pretend that this is to make Palace blink over Rak-Sakyi?

    De keersmaecker?
Now that Mills has gone that’s got to be the flood gates open for Oxford, surely there are players that will be demanding a move

Cleary is a LW isn’t he. I agree that it could be Shade at Burton. Pompey seem to think he’s heading there though

Also people are still spitting blood here that we didn’t pick up Sorba Thomas.

They also already sold Fatawu who was their best RW last season (and obviously out of our range). Mavididi the only one left really and he's left sided, inconsistent and supposedly off to Watford (sorry AFKA, feels revelant!)

Shade did look good last season when I saw highlights but at 26 with 1 season at League 1 level it seems a massive punt.

Oxford are refusing to sell anyone but he has a release clause so could still be done. Would be a huge signing for us

Shade looks like he's going to Pompey anyway.

Hope it’s De keersmaeker and Cleary. Two very good signings

I can imagine both Shade and Cleary as solid championship players. Difference to Apter is that they are built different physically which can make a big difference at this level.

De Keersmaecker is a good shout but they wanted a lot of dough

Surely for most of the championship there will be minimum movement going on in comparison to previous years as they are all playing.

It does make it a tad strange especially at CAFC where Nathan is the manager but at many Premier and Championship clubs they have head coaches and the transfer business is done by a football director of football and chief scouts etc.

Nathan likes to talk to any player first to sell the club too so if it's a totally new target on the last day it will be done by phone with NJ with negotiations presumably with Chapple and Rodwell.

Obviously we hope its players that Nathan has already spoken too over the last few days or weeks 🤞🏻

But they’re not. Stan Mills has already left, he played on Saturday against us.

You let one go that changes everything for the rest of the squad

Be surprised if we spend enough to get one of them. Both of them would be looking at something like £8m spent today which isn’t going to happen

If it was Cleary, perhaps Nathan now sees Grant as more of a 10. So we'd have Campbell + Cleary for the LW & Alli + Apter for the RW?

Don't see a place for him sadly, as good as he is I'm not sure where he realistically adds given we already need to clear out a few spare midfielders already
