Thats got to be a parody account? - Given the "Linda" - "Please tell me how he thought you could do it without you given he won one game last season when you were not in the squad" - Erm... We've won four games this season where he wasn't in the squad.

As did Curbs.Chunes said:Pretty embarrassing to have your mum posting like that on club socials. Sounds like his family are sore about the decision to let him go. Can they complain if he ends up at a League One side? Still without a club.
No idea if they've fallen out, but if they have, so what... Managers fall out with players all the time. Alex Ferguson used to bomb people out at the drop of a hat, and he was pretty successful as I remember.5 -
I really liked Doc but he was dropped in L1 and the Championship in the past two seasons because he was struggling. He was great at breaking up play but not so much at retaining the ball, and unfortunately he was particularly poor in that area. His 25/26 pass completion rate was 68.9% and 23.1% for long balls which is really low for a defensive-minded midfielder. Coventry was at 78.4% and 42.1%. Coady was 83.0% and 48.7%. It's very early days this season but so far Coventry is at 82.8% and 44.4%, Chalobah is at 86.3% passing accuracy and apparently has no interest in chucking it long because there's no data for long passes, Skipp in his 2 games is at 86.4% and 66.7. Even Ouma who I think most would say has had a chaotic start to his Charlton midfield career has 77.8% accuracy in his passing, though again only across 2 brief appearances.
Obviously it's not that sensible to extrapolate data from 2 games out across a whole season but we're never going to be a possession-based team. We're big into counters, transitions and picking up second balls high up the pitch. What we do want is to make sure that in situations where we do have the ball we make the best use of it possible. The biggest problem with Doc was after he'd do the hard work helping us get the ball back he'd tend to give it away again; a player like Chalobah was brought in to make sure not that we gobbled up the ball for the whole game but that our time on the ball is incisive and effective; JRC starting the move for TC's goal against Derby when we won it back, Skipp turning and putting TC through for his disallowed goal, Chalobah driving forward and laying on the perfect pass against Cheltenham. If you're going to have less of the ball as a general tactic then you need to upgrade the individuals on the ball to make the most of it; us having 26% possession against QPR doesn't change that fact, if anything it reinforces the point.3 -
I dont know that you are right, in the same way you dont know Ouma is better than Doc but let revisit this on 3 months. All the ecidence so far is he isnt ready fro this levelAberystwythAddick said:

I cant go in to full details without revealing sources but there was definetly a fall out between the two then consider Doc was captain and the associations with that representing the squad. Then its squashed and Doc was welcome back as we needed him notw he is gone again.robinofottershaw said:
Could you expand regarding tensions within the squad last season? I can recall there were comments on here regarding a fallout between NJ and Docherty but nothing more than that.Radostanradical said:

Said it earlier in this thread, if Doc hadnt fallen out last season with NJ he wouldnt have been released same with TK. Perhaps its ruthless by NJ and in the sense of TK its not a bad decision but Doc going is actually affecting the squad negatively. I don't think a lot of our fans realise how coose we came to imploding or how bad things were last season with tensions within the squad.Weegie Addick said:Club wishing Doc happy 30th birthday today on socials - ouch.

Irrespective of family comments we should remember that he was the leader and gave everything on the pitch however limited he was.
I will certainly applaud him if he comes back with another club.7 -
"All the evidence" is about 3 games, one of which was against a premier league team who had a 70 million pound player on the bench.Radostanradical said:

Please report back to us when you have the relevant information.
The main European leagues could be handy too.
This sort of information could influence who we might be signing in January. 👍7 -

Had to have a look, it's a real post from a real account. Some really quite strange behaviour from Docs family and friends on this, seems like a genuine falling out between him and Jones at some point. Hope he finds a club soon and they can all move on.0

If they are family then sadly it just reflects poorly on Doc. NJ and everyone at the club have been hugely complementary about him as a footballer and as a person in all of the club statements and press. If there has been a falling out then Jones has not let it affect the tone of the farewell messages, and offering best wishes to a good pro.Sure it might hurt to be told you aren't at the level, or able to be a fixture in this side going forward... but that's football. Own it and go and prove him wrong elsewhere.0

If someone treated a loved one of yours like trash behind the scenes and then was nice about them publicly, ypu would just be happy to swallow false platitudes?FirenzeAddick said:If they are family then sadly it just reflects poorly on Doc. Yes, I'm an adult so don't feel the need to air those views on social media. I would hold those views privately and discuss them in person if I ever felt the need.11 -
It depends what actually happened and why they fell out. Jones is a bit of an oddball but it seems very unlikely that he just one day woke up and decided to pick a fight with Docherty out of nowhere.Radostanradical said:

Maybe Greg was actually treated a bit harsher than was fair but there's definitely more to it than NJ randomly antagonising his own captain on a whim.0 -
This has inspired me. Next time I lose a job I’ll get my mum to tell them off. Or if not I’ll get Linda to sort it 👍5

I agree. I can’t imagine Docherty will have asked for or be thanking his relative for airing these views on social media.FirenzeAddick said:Radostanradical said:

NJ is a my way or the highway person, some would say thats decisiveness others insecurity, we were going through a bad patch when doc was dropped. If others have tried suggesting trying a different style of playing and Jones reacted negatively "it wouldnt suprise me"thenewbie said:
