Completely disregarding the fact Jones said he wanted to play more expansive football which JRC is obviously better at than Doc. Ouma has played one game albeit he was awful but it’s not like doc never dropped a horror performance and are you going to seriously complain about a young talented academy player having a pathway to the first team?Radostanradical said:

We play Doc we dint lose 4-0 to stoke, agree I may have egg on my face about Ouma come end of the season but I doubt it. Can ypu point out the expansive football JRC has been playing ? Ibcertainly havent seen it. Read my previous post I literally said I dont have a problem with him bringing Mwamba through at expense of DocCrispywood said:

I'd probably point to JRC's brilliant pass to set up the winner against Derby and his run and pass ahead of TC's equaliser against West Brom. He's been heavily involved in a third of the goals we've scored this season. Last season we lost 5-1 with Doc in the team against Southampton, 5-0 down after 43 minutes and went 3-0 down away at Stoke within 34 minutes the next game. Let's not pretend Doc was some magical shield against the team having collapses, we've always got one in us.Radostanradical said:

It’s funny, NJ is by far our most successful manager for years. He’s a long way from perfect but I get the impression a certain small minority of fans can’t bring themselves to like him, even if he won the PL for Charlton it wouldn’t be enough. I’m sure Appleton is lovely bloke who’s extremely fair to everyone but where did that get us.Radostanradical said:

To be fair, Jones is not a very likeable person, so understand why he rubs some fans up the wrong way. I don’t think it’s necessary to appreciate what he has done of the club and also not like some of his traits as a human.SouthLincsAddick said:

Linda Gomez, wife of Gus and Mother of our Joe.
Joe won't be coming back in January 2027 but will be coming home for the start of the 27/28 season on a free.
Wages won't be the issue as Joe has made his millions over the last 11 years.
Unfortunately because Joe would've been at Liverpool for 12 years when he leaves Liverpool on a free the deal struck by CAFC back in 2015 when we had a sizable sell on percentage never came to fruition.
The good news is Joe will get the parking space nearest to the medical room at Sparrows lane.
Gomez used to glide over the ground back in the day but the myriad of injuries stopped an immensely talented footballer playing 75 odd games for England alongside John Stones which I predicted when they were both teenagers.

Rado, this is a very dangerous thing to say on a Football forum as we have folk on CL who will monitor every word you input.
You seem to want to portray yourself as a guy ITK. No harm done but just expect opprobrium when you get things wrong which will happen if it hasn't already 🤔
I'm sure one day I will get something wrong as I have only been on Charlton Life for 12 years 😀
If you are ITK with how pro football operates you must understand footballers being happy is a ephemeral experience unless they are the lucky few free from injury or being discarded and on mega Premier wages where their children won't even need to work !
Greg Docherty had a fine two years at CAFC and despite any shortcomings he was as fit as a fiddle and I genuinely think it was time to move on unless he was prepared just to be a squad player; it doesn't matter what I or you believe, Nathan Jones is the manager and it was his call.
Football is a ruthless business and seeing young guys released from clubs in their teens after sometimes being coached at a club from the very young age of 6 is more heart breaking than an experienced 30 year old like Docherty who really should find a club with his fitness and CV either in Scotland or League 1 level.
He will have to be realistic about wages.

Or have JRC instead of Doc but have 3 more points this season from his contribution to the goals at West Brom and Derby which Doc never would have made tough choiceIn hindsight you could have Doc over Ouma but sometimes you need to make that gamble to try and progress. But we’ve played 7 games this season and we’ve not lost/drawn from a winning position which is essentially when Doc is at his best, he would have influenced 0 outcomes this season right now it doesn’t look like a mistake.3 -
