    Loyal supporter.
Cray should have a small advantage with not playing today

Welling well off their game today. First time to Cray’s new ground, was impressed by the set up.

Watched Welling get their arses kicked at Leatherhead Tuesday night.
Interested to learn they beat their neighbours Dorking in a PSF, a local cup type game I believe.
Did you go Jimmy? Interested to hear what you think of them (Leatherhead).
Looked very well organised from what I saw.
    Good Welling turn out 200+
With Leatherhead having around 400/500 of the gate, never seen a club like a beer as much as them.
Throughout the game always a queue.
That, and the result, made for an all round shit evening.
Yeah I was there. Leatherhead treat that game like a cup final every year whereas DW are indifferent.

Leatherhead took the lead, Dorking put their foot down and scored two. Then the gaffer took off most of the senior players and let the kids have a go. They fucked it. The gaffer went ballistic. I got a TikTok out of it that should make some good money!  And I agree, the bars are not the quickest for service. Usually go to the pub after.

This pre-season has been a bit different for DW as they are almost entirely fitness-focussed which is unusual for them, and the hope is that they finally reduce the injury list. But it means they have been underwhelming in pre-season. Paid off last night though as they smashed Totton at their place.
    What happened today Jim.
Really fancied them against those tramps.
Had 3 accas, and all included Dorking as bankers following their midweek antics.
Sorry, just seen this. Assume you are talking about Maidstone? It came down to a lack of midfielders. DW didn't have anyone available to play in the middle and they lost the game there. A few days earlier Totton let them play two CAMs and one CDM, but Maidstone didn't make the same mistake. The 10, Riley Court, was incredible. Belongs much, much higher.

Went to Fleet v Hemel Hempstead Tuesday and the two Charlton home games all 0-0..Off too Cardiff Saturday would that be a record if that finished 0-0 but i doubt it will....

Fleet looked devoid of any attacking nous, bit like us even though they faced 10 men for about 35 mins. Stacks of crosses into the box but either straight to the keeper or over everyone heads,

Looked a bit ring rusty but i guess that could be due to their delayed start. Dont think they will bother the top teams this year.

  • Looking at the bottom of NLS, bizarrely Ebbsfleet aren't bottom, which shows how bad Slough and Walton & Hersham have been. Both lost their first 7 games, before getting off the mark in game 8.

    Didn’t miss much mate.
    We won again to nil.
This winning lark is getting a bit boring.
Pretty much same team formation/substitutes from Saturday.
We should be on at least player number 30 if we going to have a go at last seasons record.

Should make for a decent game, as should the Dover one.
Me, I am off for a lovely falafel wrap with a locally sourced salad that has been pissed on by feral foxes.
Followed by a zero carbon derived ale drunk from a free Palestine recyclable vessel.
That is if there are still any trains running past South Bermondsey.

I'd cavil at this, but DHFC are too cringe even for me. I went to one of their games against Chatham and ended up hanging out with the Chatham fans. Decent bunch tbf

At least you don’t have to pay for your recyclable vessel

Really dislike SE Dons but fair play they scored 2 goals in injury time to win 3-2 and are in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup.

They are step 5 of the non-league pyramid (two leagues below Welling Utd)
  • A friend is a big Heed fan so I look out for them. Today’s match was a bit of a kicking.

Cray Wands had a fantastic result last night, winning their FA Cup replay at Maidstone United 2-0
  • Tough times at Erith & Belvedere: https://thederesfc.co.uk/news/chairmans-statement

Erith & Belvedere remains in a perilous financial position as we continue to deal with legacy debts. These are incredibly difficult times, and running a football club at this level is becoming harder by the day.

Just over a month ago, we were genuinely facing the possibility of the club closing its doors for good. A High Court writ had to be paid in full to ensure the club could continue, and although that secured our immediate future, it has put an enormous strain on the club’s finances.

It has been a huge struggle.

    But we are still here.

I wonder what the effect on Welling would be if they did go bust? Don't know the details or how true it is but I believe the groundshare isn't the most harmonious and E&B had dug their heels in over the planned redevelopment of the ground. Welling currently use the changing rooms in the E&B stand.

Seeing that Welling are putting out a team of youth players, stay on the settee mate.
But then again, I guess that was never in doubt.
