    It's a big innings for all our top five. I just wish we'd played Stewart or Ekansh instead of Quinn because I'm really not sure that our lower order, as proficient as some of them are, can be expected to do what they did last week.

    Appreciate that the technique of a lot of batters in both divisions of the CC is going to be found wanting whatever the conditions but, seriously, how do we expect to produce internationals when the vast majority of our red ball games are played in April, May and September?

    There's so many absolutely ridiculous scorecards today that it does raise the question of why we're playing this late into September.

    After our feeble surrender against Derbyshire last time out, this feels very very annoying. Can our opening batsmen please try and build a decent innings?

    It's the only time we can fit them in given that other competition takes up potentially the best five weeks for batters.

    Batting certainly looks tricky. So many close calls for edges and leg before, and inside edges going for runs.
    I’m planning to go there tomorrow. There might not be much of the game left after that.
