I can’t get over how individually poor our defenders our, like how can these errors happen when clean sheets are our bread and butter.

Maybe, but the new boys in the division did us 3-1 and we either shape-up tactically after the break, or we are in a relegation battle again.
Cardiff really should have had 5 or 6 maybe 7 - right upto and including the penalty they weren’t given in the final minute

Well. The wheels haven't fallen off, but they're well and truly wobbling.

How do we always give so much room for a shot on the edge of our own box.

Grant offered nothing, but clearly one of Jones' favourites. Leaburn worked with very little, TC became our only outlet.

For a team that's meant to be built around being defensively solid that was piss poor. Only one who came away with any credit was Okonkwo for keeping it somewhat respectable.

Honestly, I didn't understand the half time changes. I thought Alli looked more dangerous than Grant. Maybe if he puts that chance away and it's 2-2 we get a different result, but I don't think we deserved one.

We look so, so poor away from home. I'd be very angry if I travelled to Cardiff to watch that.

Ouma was the wrong sub so I don’t think it’s fair to criticise him more than the manager today

We need this international break for a reset.
Last few games we have been well off the pace

Unacceptable. We've moved to a formation with a 10, and yet failed to sign a 10 and completely alienated the two we already have. Jones, Chapple, Rodwell, What on earth were you doing?

Given a total lesson at the hands of Cardiff ffs ! I’m ready for we wasn’t the best version of ourselves speech from NJ. So many poor performances today and I couldn’t see any answer to the issue that they literally walked through us time and time again. 3-1 is a flattering scoreline based on that performance as it could have easily been 5/6
just not good enough. Alli, Grant, Bindon need to be asking themselves some questions tonight

Negative line up yet again puts us on the back from minute one.
What on earth was he thinking with bringing Ouma on when we were one down and had attacking options on the bench?
I absolutely hate watching Nathan Jones's football .

Grant has done nothing since he came back yet never gets subbed and please don't tell me Skipp is a better option than Docherty.

It might be effective at times but if i didn't support Charlton i wouldn't open my curtains if they were playing in my back garden.

  • Thank christ for the international break, how we need that to re-group, and get some off the physio's table, on a very tenuous positive 12 points from the first 8 games will be a welcome contribution.
Not a lot of good stuff today, nice goal from TC, and could have doubled his tally had Grant bothered to look up and cross for an easy tap in for 2-2, and a nice cameo from Josh at the end, anyway look forward to Bristol City at The Valley 10th October, and we go again...

I'm speechless. I don't know how you can turn in two passive, panicky and pathetic away performances like that so close together.

We couldn't deal with Cardiff finding space between our defense and midfield lines and we never found a solution. We either dropped too deep and invited pressure, or pushed too high and let them play through us. Skipp could not get any kind of handle on Moylan, who made him look like the reincarnation of Ben Watson.

I'm beyond disappointed that we have gone another transfer window without solving our midfield woes. Cardiff's midfielders can drive forwards into open space and play forwards  without needing a long time to get their heads up. Ours can't. They couldn't even find each other when they were standing two yards away. Skipp is a curse. Ouma had some awful moments again. Our only point of improvement is Chalobah and he won't be fit.

The team totally collapsed, once again. It's pathetic. Nathan and his staff need to get their act together.
  • Id like to thank my brother that he didn't tell me he was booking Cardiff tickets. He did me a massive favour.
  • Nathan Jones tactics once again leaves me totally confused.

Last week, when half the team were knackered after an hour, he makes just one sub.

Today, after a shambolic first half he brings on the completely inept Ouma and moves Campbell, our only real attacking threat, back to wing back. It makes no sense.

As does most of that performance today. Clueless, hopeless, totally inept call it any of those.

How many shots did Cardiff have from the edge of the box? If they could have shot straight, they could have scored double figures.

We are in big, big trouble.

Something needs to change because that was utter utter shite.

i was previously of the impression that once players are back it will get better. I’m not sure that’s the case.

Almost each player looked lost out there today.

There seems to be no tactical patterns to our attack. The players are not good enough to make it up on their own or rely on talent.

    Seriously concerned
    Same as last season

I thought Skipps passing was terrible, too short and put our players in awkward position. Bindon  beautiful assist but gave away two goals. Alli sorry not good enough, what was the point of  bringing on Ouma. Sorry NJ, some good signings but again poor ones as well.
Hopefully with a good break and injured players coming back, just hope for the rest of season

It wasn’t a negative line up though, that was possibly the best line up that we had available.

Which is what makes it worse
  • We are so shit , Grant is about as likely to score as I was after 12 pints in T’s back in the day , fucking pathetic .
same as last year a good results wise start giving a false premise of how good we actually are/arent .

    0%    Top half
    66%    13th-21st
    34%     The big R

Also the curious case of leaburn. We all love him, he likes to get stuck in, but is he as effective? Does he win those battles? Correlation over the past few games is that refs dont see him as getting fouled, just losing battles. I love him, but we shouldnt rely on him.

We have now tried 7 different players in the 10  spot  and none have convinced. I think NJ has to work out a system that does not require any of our supposed 10s, as Knibbs, Carey, Ouma all look League One or worse. Maybe play Kelman or Godden there if fit, otherwise I fear for our survival.
Or actually sign someone fit for purpose, every side have a player like Moylan  today for example as he is the easiest to mention, we have NOBODY close to that player, how many of us said that was needed in the summer, yet the club chose to keep the powder dry and fail to use it. Fuming with that today we were absolutely spanked and didn’t have the bollox to react. NJ needs to earn his corn now, always backed him but this type of performance is happening more often, he needs yo look at himself 1st and go from there. So pissed off with that today.😤
  • By no means is Docherty the answer, but we were a little arrogant to presume we had a good enough squad to let him go for free.

You can’t plan for individual mistakes Jones and Bindon third goal wins any game was excellent strike .. yet Grant makes it 2-2 and who knows .. I think we need to go back to our 352 away from home we are two open …. but now it  really shows up the two poor ref decsions v QPR and Pompey …. But still have 12 points now we have time to get players back and be in a better place after the international break ..

Ouma done ok when he come on again Skipp and Coventry were very good but outnumbered at times .. good to see Kelman on the shoulder of the last defender that’s what we missed  ..

Grant stayed on because he "works hard" , that's the only metric Nathan Jones cares about with attacking players. If Moylan played for us, he wouldn't even be involved because he would have pissed NJ off for only tracking back 55 times instead of 56

We have no midfield with or without Docherty. He was not the answer and unfortunately, it looks like his replacements aren't either.

Personally didn't think we were nearly as bad as people are making out.

We had good opportunities to score. They have have a good XG this season and they showed why. They're all willing to have a go - Which luckily we had Okonkwo or it'd have been more.

For me I'd have preferred we tested one of our own youth defenders than taking on one that everyone else thought would be the shit. Because he's just shit.
