    Is it just me or is everyone else suffering from buffering syndrome?
    No problem with buffering for me ... but then I'm not watching the cricket - it's AFL Grand Final Eve so the AFL channel on YouTube is showing 24 hours'-worth of back-to-back classic Grand Finals. Saw the second half of the '89 Grand Final between Hawthorn and Geelong earlier (the best Grand Final I've seen apart from West Coast winning ones), now in the final quarter of the '22 decider between Collingwood and Brisbane and next up (I think) is the 2018 meeting between West Coast and Collingwood followed by West Coast/Sydney 2006 edition (which was much better than 2005).
    @Briston_Addick

    Won't be able to watch the Grand Final until Monday

    Who you going for?

    As a Brisbane 'fan' thought it was a great comeback in the semi
    Freo has been the most consistent team this season, winning the minor premiership, but Brisbane is the best team and have been there, done that (fourth GF in a row, aiming for the "three-peat") whereas the Dockers are in just the second Granny in their 30-odd year history and first since 2013.

    If Freo had been up against a Victorian side I'd have held my nose and supported the West Australian side (ignoring the fact they're wearing purple instead of blue and gold) but in this case I'm going Brissy: a tight game for three quarters and then the Lions putting their foot down in the final term to win by four+ goals ... and Will Ashcroft to bag the Norm Smith Medal for the third year running.

    Meanwhile, back at the home of cricket ...

    Kent take the lead, 230-4 with Compton 90*

    This may sound like a stupid question, but if we get to 450 runs and secure all the batting points, are we promoted if this game finishes as a draw? I'm very new to cricket, so I may have got that completely wrong.

    250-5 and a batting point. Not that this matters in the great scheme of things

    400 is enough plus a draw as even if Northants win and are level with us, we would win by virtue of having more wins

    If we score 400 a draw will be enough.

    Chahal is going to be a handful in Middlesex’s second innings.

    No not in isolation.

    We started this round of matches 4 points ahead of Northamptonshire so, as we have more wins than Northants we can only finish with 4 less points or better than Northants to gain promotion.

    As it stands Northamptonshire can achieve a maximum of 19 points taking them to 207 for the season. That’s why there’s so much focus on what Northamptonshire are doing and hope from us that they do badly or at least worse than us.

    Not asking but suggesting. Some people suggested that the bloke at the other end currently should be opening because he is a classy, technically sound batter who will one day play for England.
