So you want Jones in but you don’t like his football?NabySarr said:

Can't imagine any NJ team playing attractive football. His football is pretty awful to watch but you can excuse it if the results are okay.
Budget certainly not the only issue.
Things have to improve.4 -
The football is shite, but we wouldn’t be able to get a better manager than Jones in. It’s the same view as the majority of others, the football is shit but we don’t have the players for any betterAberystwythAddick said:

He’s played attractive football in the past when he’s had the players to do it, the problem is he doesn’t have the players to do it so has to play the football terrorism we see each gamehoof_it_up_to_benty said:Can't imagine any NJ team playing attractive football. That was obviously atrocious today, but I would still be firmly behind NJ. What do people expect with a net spend of £1.5m this summer and main owner(s) seemingly wanting out?
Two things can be right at the same time - we are in dreadful form, but I still think he’s the right man. 18th and above would be progress, and I would still fancy him to deliver that. I think he’s a good manager and he’s been let down6 -
He is partly letting himself down. Why play our defensive formation against a team shipping goals? It is this kind of unfathomable decision making that pisses people off6

His first stint at Luton was quite attractivehoof_it_up_to_benty said:

I'd love to work out how many people are on a merry go round each season of calling for Jones' head then stating something along the lines of "we outperformed our ability" without admitting they've been wrong.
I feel like the criticism of performances are fair, but we seem to turn it around every season so far.1 -

You're right of course Aberystwyth. You can't replace a manager, just like you can't sack one. But you want the ability to demand a sacking...
Therefore, If you can call for a sacking you better be able to call out a replacement. Nobody is saying you have to pay them but at least name one.1 -
NJ getting sacked doesn't solve anything, we haven't got the players to play 'good football' at this level6
-
Is Jones too loyal to some of his coaching staff?
I wouldn't know where to point the finger but there are surely improvements to be made in that department.2 -
It will happen, but way too late to keep us up this season IMHODennisBooth said:

Not saying Jones tactics or management are helping, but who seriously thinks anyone is going to really do any better with what we have?
Again not defending Jones but we have to face up to the reality that our squad, for this level, is so so poor.Thats what the budget we have has given us.I honestly don’t see anyone coming in and being able to change that.

You’re joking right? There is absolutely no chance Carlos Corberan would come and manage us. He’s just been the Valencia manager ffs why would he come and join a championship strugglerAberystwythAddick said:

I’m still waiting for someone to suggest a realistic upgrade on Jones. I’ll be waiting a while because I don’t think there is one at the moment4

Carlos Corberan ffs 😂 might as well say Pep Guardiola because it’s got about the same chance of happening2

Find it too hard and early to be in the jones out brigade, he got us up and kept us up, plus we started well and this is a long long season. But he does make some questionable tactical decisions, im sure everyone else has mentioned them so no point repeating.
my issue, is he blames the players (even whilst stating he takes responsibility), that could become toxic. Jose mourinho was the master of taking any heat away from the players, master - jones is not.3 -

It’s entirely feasible. Look a Hull City’s manager, he came from managing in the Turkish top flight and dynamo Zagreb before that to one of the relegation favourites in the championship.NabySarr said:

Not sure many want Jones to go, but people are frustrated because this is a strong squad, just feels like being aloud to go and play. Also they don’t know if they are attacking or defensive at the moment. Caught in between. It is a worry at the moment.. Watford and Burnley are poor, low in confidence and we got 1 point and never really had a go at them. If we go at them, get an early goal it could been a few goals and we could have kicked on.
He needs to get this low budget thing out of his head and believe in the players1 -
Tbf we also wont be the first or last fans to think we know how to solve all the problems, maybe he is doing what he can with a load of players punching above their weight0

It really isn’t a strong squad at all. Absolutely no chance I’m sorry. A Turkish owner hiring a Turkish manager from a league smaller than the championship vs us hiring a manager that last managed one of the biggest clubs in Spain. Corberan is a great manager and would be an upgrade on Jones, but he would just laugh if we offered him the job. It’s a silly suggestion and not realisticAberystwythAddick said:

I expected us to actually have a go at winning games especially against a team thats been absolutely pumped last 2 weeks. I would rather go out and lose trying to win than losing playing negative anti football. Jones has no balls.NabySarr said:
I think you’re more deluded if you think being 16th with this squad and budget is a sackable offence. What did people expect this season to be like?FAVADDICK said:NabySarr said:
Exactly. Remove Jones and we still won’t have a midfield capable of progressing the ball, and we still won’t have anyone of the right hand side that’s any good. The manager isn’t the problem hereFishCostaFortune said:

It is truly aids to watch. I couldnt agree more. Are we sure Nathan Jones aint French... he fucking surrenders before a balls kicked.FAVADDICK said:
I expect to turn up to a team that have shipped 9 goals in the last 2 games and not play 8 defensive players and actually attack them, and that isn’t just this game either we’ve been so poor for the last couple of months, playing the same atrocious football every weekNabySarr said:

I don't really get why after the last 20 years people think we can attract better.
Who have we had that has been a genuinely good manager since Curbishley left? Powell? Bowyer?1
