He might come good and be worth more but we desperately needed the £7m this summer, and it was insane to not take it.

He'll go for a whole lot less when we're relegated and he's scored 0 goals all season.
    That's pretty much my thinking.

Surely each decision is made with different factors to consider including the future/financial situation  of the club itself, in tandem with what's felt is best for the player ?

As others have stated, our current 3 benched youngsters are far less likely to get game time in the Championship & as such put themselves & their talent in the shop window.

And not playing in the U21s or out on loan either is beneffiting no-one at all....

I am not sure I have seen anything in him that Daniel Kanu could not offer us. In fact, Kanu has the sharpness to get shots off, while Mbick appears slow and sluggish, which hurts me to say, but it is true for all to see.
Thought there was a blatant shirt pull on his half chance today.
  • He’s got an even bigger build than a young Rooney but he has none of his strength, bullish determination or speed. He looks heavy, slow and ponderous. The guy should be a battering ram with real energy and an ability to force his impression on a game to show the technical talent I’m sure he has. I’m surprised how weak, heavy and slow he looks on the pitch.

He is young though and it’s way too early to write him off. May well develop into an excellent player. Should be on loan in League 1 this season.

Yet again people basing opinions on basically nothing. We could have brought on Harry Kane for those 15 or so minutes and he would have had about as much impact on the play, the game was completely gone by then, when you have Kayne Ramsay taking 45 seconds to take a free kick on the right hand side for example

Even if we took the money for the mbick deal i don’t think it would have been spent wisely.

On deadline day as well so would have ended up in exactly the same position

Speak for yourself. This could’ve easily brought us another 3 or 4 League One CMs.

Would have had the money and no time to do anything with it , don't think the bid news even came out until very late in the day.

I would however be surprised if he's that involved between now and Christmas if Godden is back fit, would be Kelman to start and then Godden off the the bench with Miles.

If he doesn’t get any game time just makes the decision to reject the 7M bid even more bizarre

  • What’s the point of having the money available, these lot have proven they aren’t worth letting lose with any sort of budget
  • He looks and plays like a body builder when on the pitch atm.

Why do people keep saying we should have sold him to spend the money on our squad. It was late on deadline day, we’d have had no time to do anything with the money and we’d be a striker short

If we get the same offer in January then maybe there is a discussion to be had if we need that money to buy the players that will keep us up. But I hope it doesn’t come to that and we can keep him to really benefit when he starts fulfilling his potential

Think people are saying we should have just taken the £5m in January, to spend it in the summer.
At least I hope so, as your explanation is far too obvious otherwise, and you shouldn't have to be pointing it out
