I am going to say it!! Yes I am, Nathan Jones......................

I hope Nathan can turn this around, I think he still has credit in the bank but clearly needs to get a win soon. The board haven’t been great in the transfer market in backing Jones so I’m concerned who they may pick for a replacement manager if they do sack Jones.Nathan I think needs a minimum 4pts from our next 3 games, big Home games v Bolton & V Sheffield Utd, a win and a draw is needed otherwise it’s lightly he will be sacked and they will use the international window to bring in a new manager. I could see the board going for an X player Jackson or Parker, I wonder if the later would even consider a return to the Valley?Let’s see if Jones can pull another rabbit out of the hat again !4

I am sorry but I can’t see anything but us losing the next three games. The players look demoralised and Jones seems to have run out of ideas. It is like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.2

These players cost money that we do not haveAlwaysneil said:I think an issue Jones has is that he is overly reliant on every player being the best version of themselves, but the best version of themselves he wants to be is a very specific and narrow one, until he wants it to be something else.He doesnt have players who can play well in multiple different ways, they can occasionally play well in one or two quite limited ways but have very limited ability to change roles themselves in a game without a lot of coaching now required to be at half time or in between games and not in a goalie time out.
Jones the Manager also has a problem in that he seems to often take 5-10 mins longer to change something that isnt working than the slowest member of the crowd. He also isnt afraid to make unusual sub choices (that no one else would make) and when this plays off he's done ok and when it doesnt he's a fucking useless twunt it would seem.0 -
I’m sure the same was said on here after the Bristol Rovers, Crawley and Millwall games. He deserves the next 3 games to try and turn it around like he did on those 3 occasionsDennisBooth said:I am sorry but I can’t see anything but us losing the next three games. I don’t get this next 3 games, he’s had 9 games some against some really poor opponents and walked away being spanked by most of them and people just want to potentially throw away another 9 points playing boring terrible football when realistically we should be beating 2 out of the next 3 teams.NabySarr said:

It’s more that there’s a big break after the next 3 games. So we can then do a proper recruitment process to bring in a new manager if neededFAVADDICK said:

We should be beating Bolton, but not sure Sheffield United is a “should be beating” game. Compare our starting eleven to theirs and maybe 2 of our players would get in theirs. Most teams we play are simply much better than us player for player and Sheffield United is no different0 -

The problem is we have to beat teams that arent the newly promoted ones at some point.
I am struggling to find another 'should be beating game' if we say no to Sheff Utd who are in turmoil with possible ownership issues and points deductions.
We need to be winning our next 3 home games.

I’m not saying we can’t win. But it’s clearly not a game that should be described as “should be winning” when they are mid table and have a much better team than us. Not sure they are turmoil on the pitch, have 7 points from last 4 games. If only 2 of our players get in their best eleven then that shows the levels between the 2 teamsDamoNorthStand said:NabySarr said:

I think this is part of our struggle. People are expecting us to play good football and win games against teams that are just much better than ours. It’s an impossible ask1 -
7 points from our next 3 home games would be a very good return and would put us back on track for the season to get around 60 points. A draw against Sheffield United is fine providing we beat Bolton and Lincoln1
-
But it isn't an impossible ask, Hull are a current prime example of how you make your team greater than the sum of its parts. There are lots of other examples in the PL and EFL.No fans are expecting prime Barcelona stuff with our squad - we just expect the side to be able to complete more than 7 passes in 15 minutes of football at home against a side who have lost 5 on the bounce and show just a little ambition in the way we play.5
-
Our main hope at the moment is Charlie Kelman who did cost money; all 3 million pounds worth and he is the goal poacher who could just keep Charlton in the Championship IF we play to his strengths by playing balls into gaps for him to run on to.
The Ramsay closing down and the simple but accurate pass from JRC to Kelman to finish was an excellent goal.
For 20 ish minutes we closed them down and played on the front foot and negated Norwich who were shaky.
Then Charlton as a collective just stopped playing and is that down to fitness or every team in the Championship are more fluid thank us with their passing ability. I think that is a rhetorical question as other than when Chalobah was available in the 1st 4 league and cup matches we struggle to string many passes together other than in our own half going nowhere.
The other big worry is that both Jones and Koumetio who were our rock and had a good partnership had a lack of cohesion in the last two matches.
Can Nathan turn it around ?
He always looks so manic on match days and the inability of the half time team talk to stop the superiority of Norwich was quite telling.
Kelman was a big toe away from being onside with the potential OG to make it 2-2 but luck and poor play overall for 100 minutes of modern games is costing CAFC.
Middlesbrough seems a home banker but Bolton, Sheffield United and Lincoln we need to find some partnerships all over the park and take our chances and cut out the bad mistakes as you get punished in the Championship unlike League 1 where we could get away with the odd blooper.
It's a results business but who would even make that decision when Nathan has a contract to 2030 ?
Revisit this at the end of November because NJ deserves more time but we are in quicksand with confidence draining from players, fans and critics.

If Sheffield United are anything like last season then as long as they keep 11 men on the pitch they should beat us. We thrashed their 9 men 1-0 last season and that was a struggle.1 -
