Remember folks, not favourite albums, but ones without a duff track. Surprised New Boots and Panties, Ian Dury and the Blockheads hasn't come up. I will also give a shout for Rodrigo y Gabriela, their eponymous debut album. Also The Guide (Wommat) - Youssou N'Dour and certainly Buena Vista Social Club (eponymous album). 0

Six-a-bag-of-nuts Too true - Michael Stipe said he would love to go back in time and remove Ignoreland and Sidewinder from that record!!!
Trouble is, it's all so subjectiveAutomatic for the People - REMSaw someone else put This Is My Truth... by Manics, which is funny because, for me, that record has one great track, followed by gradually worse tracks, until the final, turgid, cringe-inducing horror that is the final track. The album that made me stop listening to my then-third favourite band. Horrifying!
Velvet Underground and Nico is a great shout. For me...

I can think of loads of great albums that still have 1 duff track on them so they don't qualify.0

Bit of a disappointing contribution from you Henry. I was expecting you to nominate some obscure African world music albums, at least one Jamaican reggae pioneer and a deep south American blues artist who was actually better than Elvis. Too many people naming far too many albums and too many David Bowies. I am a massive Bowie fan but to seriously say that Low does not have a duff track is beyond me, side 2 is crap save Art Decade. 0

Bit of a disappointing contribution from you Chirpy. I was expecting pretty much exactly what you posted.

            Maybe I can help Chirpy?
Not African, and recently abused by an English producer, but The Jolly Boys' Pop n Mento really doesnt have a duff track, is obscure World Music and is about as funny as you can get a bunch of Octogenarian Jamaicans who played for many a star of the 50's like Erroll Flynn's parties in Port Antonio.
Beer Joint and Tailoring is also good though not up to Sunshine and Water

South American dance favourite Miki Gonzalez has one Album which is equally good all through - Cafe Inkaterra mixing andean instruments and dance beats.
Sadly nowhere near as good as Elvis.
And you are so right about Bowie

Well I was just being honest. Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" to me is the perfect album. Why would you have expected me to post that? My NOW post was.........a joke? 0

Franz Ferdinand - disappointed by their follow ups but that first album is class
 Hot Fuss - The Killers0

Too many people naming far too many albums and too many David Bowies. I am a massive Bowie fan but to seriously say that Low does not have a duff track is beyond me, side 2 is crap save Art Decade. Perhaps the B-side of Low is beyond you? For me, Low is Bowie's most consistent album, it tells a story. He referred to it as 'train music' so how any charlton fan can think its crap is...beyond me.
Rise and Fall is a great album, but I could easily do a Chirpy Red and slate it as a choice with just three words 'It Ain't Easy' - so close to being the greatest A-Side of all time, then that.
Hunky Dory - Song for Bob Dylan, shite, really really shit, and I am a huge Dylan fan.
Is there a scientific method to determine whether an LP is actually, 100% perfect?0
