I thought Kelman played well but none of our strikers have made the position their own yet. The battle for the starting place is still wide open and one of them needs to step up.
It says a lot that most of us would put a fit Godden straight back in the team.
  • If we could actually play it on the deck and create chances he would look a lot better.

Just got to be honest about us at times and say we don't exactly play attractive football, it's effective but that's about it.

His best performance yesterday and he will get better.
  • He's been brought in as he's a goal poacher but he's not missed any chances all season... I think he's a decent player but our lack of creativity / quality in the final third is preventing us seeing the best of him
Exactly so we should have bought someone more suited to the system , or adapt the system.  Not his fault - he did look sharper yesterday , no doubt
  • shouldn’t have started today against Cooper. Bad call by Jones
    Why?
Cooper is a man mountain and had him in his pocket all game
What was he doing when Kelman ran off him into the channel and put the ball across the face of goal?
One cross in an hour-long performance isn't that much tbh.

He did well but you can't pretend like the Millwall defense was ever really troubled by his presence. Campbell sure, but not really Kelman.

All the time Godden is out and we aren’t doing well upfront Godden’s reputation will grow!
  • As long as we are pumping long balls for Kelman to win in the air, we ain’t gonna score many goals

Unless you are playing to his strenghs, what is the point?

So true. Lots went up to campbells head as well!

Which IMO makes it all the more baffling we went big for someone like Kelman given the football we play. Someone like Kone fits our style perfectly. Godden is a rarity in that he is deceivingly good in the air for his height and is strong. Still not convinced Kelamn fits with Jones football.
  • Doesn’t matter what way you want to paint it, if the price is correct which has been quoted, then we got royally shafted by qpr. So many were adamant kone was crap but failed to see Wycombe had a change of manager and his form dipped, he is twice the player kelman is unfortunately and got him for cheaper !

I was arguing on here before that Kone was a much better signing, but there’s no guarantee Kone would have signed for us. In fact, I think it’s very unlikely he would have done, a player that good with that much potential will always attract established championship interest and choose that over a newly promoted team

If we had the choice of Kone or Kelman we would definitely have signed Kone, but we didn’t have that choice so Kelman is probably the best striker we could have got

Probably true, but it's a but painful that the Kelman money we paid QPR, paid for Kone.
  • Can understand we’re not playing to Kelman’s strengths but if you look at TC despite being small he gave Crama and Leonard absolute hell down that left side and battled away with them constantly. I don’t expect Kelman to be winning headers and throwing those kind of centrebacks to the floor but would like him to show a bit better play all round, his goal scoring isn’t a massive concern I don’t think until he starts missing chance after chance

Be nice if he got a chance to miss
