    Result:

    - with Leicester’s deduction: 48
    - without Leicester’s deduction: 53

    Charlton’s final points total: 53

Blackburn would have been relegated on 52 points had Leicester not had 6 deducted.
This might surprise you.......we would stayed up by goals scored with 52 points.

Off to lie down in a darkened room.

    Edit.

No we wouldn't because losing that  point would have mean a draw turning into a defeat & therefore losing at least 1 GD.

So the answer is 47 with a better GD.

So we were safe after Middlesbrough… I don’t know what all the fuss was about?

So in the end 47 pts and a favourable goal difference over Oxford or 48 pts without goal difference.

So the point of survival without knowing it at the time was actually after Oxford away which saw us get to 48 pts. That late equalizer at Oxford proving to be extremely valuable, otherwise Oxford would have achieved 49 pts and we'd have needed 50 to survive which would have been achieved after the Hull game.

Interesting Blackburn would have gone down on goal difference without any points deductions.

Last relegation spot would have been very tight all round - Leicester and Blackburn would have been on 52, West Brom and us on 53.

We were on 50 going into Hull, the 50th point was obtained at Hillsborough.

I think it’s too simplistic to say Blackburn would have gone down without the points deductions. They may have won today if something was riding on it.

If we'd lost at Oxford though we would have been on 49 pts after Sheff Weds.
