Just gone Christmas mate, most people still got a tin with a couple of Strawberry Delights in the bottom
Rousillions gobbled all those up already I’m afraid

His focus is goals and assists so Macca might not be getting much assistance on Saturday
It's a good thing, we don't need both wing backs to be pure defenders. It frees up TC to be a sub or play higher up the pitch.

Was out for 9 months till 18th December with a back injury, but played half hour then & a couple of U21 games since. Did 60 mins on Saturday
    Great news  :#

Played 12 games for Wigan last year. 21 year old. Feels like a huge gamble, hope he’s just the back up.
Ideally we need a second Left-Back in, just to be safe, but what did you seriously expect this month?
Maybe someone who’s played some championship football even just a game or two would be nice.
    Welcome to Charlton, Matt Penney!

Glad we've got a left back. Would just be nice to sign someone without recent injury problems. Recurring back injury sounds worrying. Good luck to him, big test straight up on Saturday.
Well he has got to carry Gillisphey so that should give the back a good run out.

Searched his name on a couple of Wigan forums…..seems to a collective response by most people on there. ‘Good player, but always injured’
There’s a thread on X with Wigan fans giving their opinions. The overwhelming verdict is that he’s quality but made of popadoms.
    Sounds delicious

Don't let Roussillon know that, he'll eat the poor lad before he's kicked a ball

Might mean we play a back four.

Rapter and TC down the wings, Kelman/Leaburn/Dykes up front, Carey in behind, let's go!*

*I suspect Chambers has been signed to play LWB primarily but it would be nice to have options for a change.

“Bit more on the loan signing of Luke Chambers here.

#cafc add a left-back and that maybe opens up the possibility of a formation switch (Nathan Jones talked last night about needing a natural full-back to do that).

Earned praise off Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool after his first Europa League start.

Key is going to be staying fit. Missed a lot of last season with a back issue.”

Any left back is an improvement! Welcome Luke. Hopefully we can get another in so we have cover
    this .. but w t f can't we sign someone who's got a proven fitness record .. I just do  not understand why Jones & Co persistently sign potential casualties f f s !!

Seems to like going into the far right corner too. Have to be mindful of that. No hiding place at the Den on saturday.

Start of last season he played in all of Wigan's first 11 games. Then was out injured from October to March. Came back for two games, played 62 mins and 70 mins (ironically against us) then got injured again.
Didn't play again until two weeks ago when he played 45 minutes on 9 Jan and 62 mins on 17 Jan for Liverpool's U21s.

He's played 107 minutes of football in 10 months and hasn't played a full 90 minutes since October 2024. Let's hope he can get up to speed quickly.

Having just read his Wiki, I am thinking we might have been better off with Luke Littler
Bags of confidence, but there is a question mark over his pace.

Chambers is a bright prospect. I've heard his name mentioned several times when hearing of Liverpool prospects. His problem that has held him back has been injuries, so there is an element of risk obviously. Not ideal that it is mainly Wigan experience, but remember that Conor Bradley's was mainly at League 1 Bolton and nobody would turn him down.
    You are kidding me?
    .he's 21 FFS!!!¡!!!!!!!!

PWR - open minded but on the face of it not overly impressed. Another loan... Jones actively said he doesn't like loans and I think there's a high risk of loans not liking him too when they are not bought into / committed to his long term plan / style... lack of match practice, injury prone. Shopping in the bargain bin again this feels desperate

I expect this to be above the tunnel as the players walk out now at the valley ala the ‘this is anfield’ sign

Have to hope he's had a few.'growing pains' type injuries and now goes on to play more, but I'd still rather we signed another option to provide competition even if he does.

    Not sure we will, though.
