My Burnley Mate now reckons that JRS is heading up there this afternoon, as bid has been accepted by Palace.
Sounds like palace and the agent both want him to sign for Burnley, as they are offering more money. Rak-Sakyi wants to sign for us, up to him really whether he digs in and forces the move to us (now seems unlikely)

Swansea fans saying JRS's agent did the exact same thing with them.
    The agent sounds positively parasitical.

It’s not that usual that it’s aired in public though which makes me think it’s finished.

Think Henners is probably on the right track , the FA have got a lot more strict on agents and the club can't be messing around with unlicenced agents or anything like that. Burton are under investigation for a lot of dodgy dealings with an agent when they signed 20+ players the other summer.
More fool us then for not establishing this at the get go and JRS for having an agent who ain’t licensed. Agents should be DBS checked or equivalent of.
Or... maybe JRS changed agents to someone we've had bad dealings with in the past?

Or... his past agent is licensed, but he changed it to someone who isn't (i.e. a family member)?

This is something I will never understand. The club have given a reason. A trusted journalist has reported it. (And, I assume, Crawley has checked the information, which he should, as a journalist...)

And, still some of our supporters look for a reason, despite what the club say, to try and blame the club. Like, it's always their fault, and there are no other dodgy characters in the world...

He wouldn’t necessarily be first choice there, they have Edwards who from what I can see they paid a big fee for.
Considering it sounds like he’s got no agency in his own life choices I don’t think he’ll overly care
  • Everyone who wants a new Charlton-friendly agent will get one.

  • Cawley mentioned in regards to the JRS transfer that it’s an “ongoing dispute.” Trying not too read too much into things (although obviously I am), but could this mean we are still working on the deal and potentially even trying to lure him away from his agent to get the move done, hence the “dispute?”

Apter gave the ball straight to their players a couple of times in the first half under no pressure.
So did their players, to us.
I'm sure Spurs Life are sacking of Van Hecke and Bergvall as I type

Absolutely no interest in Shade played for a shit burton team and never played in the champ.

Would be an absolute waste of time and money a cheap alternative to our first choice
So did Ruman Burrell and he’s doing well at QPR.

But agreed to the fact this shouldn’t be JRS’ alternative as they’re different positions

Extra little bit on RCs substack that there's genuine interest in Doch.

Any chance we could sign JCB as an alternative to parking the bus?

  • We’re all presuming JRS really wanted to come to us but any player can say that. Perhaps he was in cahoots with his agent, going through the motions with us to get Burnley to offer another £1m year in wages. The agent has form with doing the same to Swansea, perhaps the player is happily going along with it.
  • Personally still believe that JRS wants to come to us and for that reason hope that a deal is still possible. We will know by Wednesday morning at the latest!

Hope this follows the same pattern with Harvey Knibbs that we pulled out the deal then he signed up anyway
That is a pretty depressing precedent.

Always a possibility of course but that doesn’t seem to make much sense in this case given his history with us. Also I truly believe the strong likelihood of him signing was a huge part of the reason his good pal TC ended up signing the contract with us. That along with all the stuff TC put up on Snapchat. There’s no way his mate would lie to him about wanting to sign if he was just trying to get a better paid move elsewhere at the same time, it just doesn’t really seem to add up in this case. I genuinely think his agent might just be a you know what.

Have we any confirmation on how JRS and his agent are supposedly related by the way? Seen someone say it’s his dad, another say it’s his uncle, cousin, etc.

    Cawley confirming its the agent.

This is very much still a Schrodinger's cat for me.

If they think the agent might bend if they call his bluff, they have to announce the deal is off.
If they don't, then the deal is off and may as well say it.

There is a bit of me that still holds out some hope.

With TC, they can influence Jes to sort out his agent situation. If he is as keen as we think he is for a deal to join us, he may already be minded that way.

It's not over till the bloke in the yellow tie sings and all that.
The club won't announce anything to do with JRS if it doesn't happen? How would that work?

"We tried to sign someone but we didn't?" No club ever does that
Not on your own site, but you could through a 3rd party. I think the term for that person would be a journalist.

I noticed his recent follow was a moving company so I do think he’s leaving before the window shuts.

I think this will be concluded quite quickly.
We can’t hang around waiting for something that maybe doesn’t happen.
IF RS wants to join us he needs to tell his agent to get it done quickly.
If he doesn’t mind another team if the money is better so be it.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the agent representing JRS is Jonathan fortune 😂
