Ongoing dispute makes it seem like there is a chance if they sort themselves out or JRS says bollocks to this, I want to join and progress my career.
As said above, it’s his career, not anyone else’s. No one of his representatives have his best interests truly at heart, they’ll be looking to get him the best deal financially because it means they’ll get a bigger payout themselves.
He’s at the age now where he needs to have a home and kick on and it seems to me that this is that place. The longer it drags on the harder it’ll become for him and his career. Signing for a club in January because your agent has messed you and your chances around, isn’t ideal as he’ll be unhappy for too long and options might not be the same in 4 months time. Football is tough, out of sight and out of mind is very much a thing.
Really hope the ongoing dispute means it can be worked out and he’s our player by this time next week.13 -

NJ has a good sense of humour, delivered deadpan, on all this.
Claiming that 'losing Burke' is a major issue is hysterical.
It's not like he's been fit for more than 4 games at a stretch in his whole time with us.
Double unfortunate to have another CH made of glass in Sichenje, not that he's looked any better than Burke in his cameos thus far.
With the dearth of fit CH's we'll be starting 4 at the back for the foreseeable.
Can Chalobah play CH? Is he a younger, quicker Conor Cody?

Not buying it that the agent caused the deal to collapse. If JRS really wanted to sign, there’s nothing his agent could do about it. There’s something else at play is my guess.

All of us thinking it was likely regarding good news when Nathan Jones called up Jim Rodwell live on TalkSport yesterday, when it was most likely to inform him that we’d been done up by JRS’ agent. FFS.

He wasn't necessarily referring to JRS though was he? He could have meant we were looking at another striker and a RW (having already moved on from JRS, though that was not common knowledge) but now we have to factor in 1 or 2 CBs. I still don't agree with this position, Edwards for example is due back soon (training on grass if I recall????) and although we saw him in limited appearances in the championship he didn't look out of place and has played both fullback/CB before. We also don't know the extent of said injuries, if its a grade 2 hamstring as said before for Billy, that's 2 months max? if we go the CB route again we're resigning ourself to another half season at least of 1 dimensional attritional football. Rules on who can act as an agent are much stricter now and the club may not want, or even be allowed under FA rules, to pay or deal with an unauthorised agent. Just my speculation.2 -

If we are playing a back 4 then Edwards doesn’t help at CB, I’m not sure Bell does much either. Mesik looked solid there but it’s not ideal and we currently have no backup. We definitely need to sign a centre backLTKapal said:

Ergo JRS may have any agent but one with whom CAFC is prohibited or unwilling to deal.
Someone else said clubs shouldn't pay agents. Why on Earth not? Clubs may engage professionals to assist in any area of club business. It might be cheaper or preferable to directly employ individuals to represent the club in player negotiations but the use of agents is long established, regulated and rarely controversial. (insert well trodden house buying analogy)0
