I think the defence should be sorted now. Would like to see us move on to the midfield as that’s where we really need to improve. Do we think those deals will be later in the window?
    Still need some rwb
    Need 2

Great start to the window now for that RWB and midfield rebuild.

That should be the defence sorted. Hope to see some midfield signings now as that's where we really need to improve. More likely later in the window I think.

Will Ferry hasn’t joined that Czech club yet then….
Wonder if he could be the 3rd signing this week that @stjohnshill hinted at?

I'd hope the third signing is an RWB. Would set things up nicely

Unlikely I think. In Cawley’s write up he says Chapple went to watch the Dundee derby and it was reported we were watching Ferry and Graham, but we were actually there to watch Koumetio not those 2

Plus with Mesik and now Koumetio I’d be shocked if any more left sided defenders are incoming

Current team and depth looking a little healthier now. Next steps are upgrading at RWB and in midfield, and then trimming the numbers at CB and up front

Encouraging start to the window, signing players at good ages on long contracts so they can hopefully develop into really good championship players over the next few years

Without putting the cat amongst pigeons…

Could we be putting these signings on 4 year contracts to spread the cost across those years - and better (smaller cost incurred) for this years budget? 👀

Like the look of these 2 CB's (they look like hard cases and have potential) and the fact Gillesphey has just gone means no reason to think Lloyd Jones is going or that we aren't going for some more attacking wing backs. The real test of this window will be the midfield / wb re build so makes some sense that we get the other stuff done first and then throw all we've got at it. If LJ goes and we play the slovakian at wing back then i'll take a different view on it. I don't think that will happen.

I don’t think giving a 23 year old a 4 year contract is anything suspicious

Four year contracts are our strategy with young players so that we can, if it makes sense, sell them at a decent price after 2 years...

    Still needed:
    GK - Starter
    RWB - Cover (Ramsay starts)
    x3 CM's - Starters
    x1 No.10 - Starter
    x2 Strikers - x1 Starter

    Risk and reward

We lost Small for pennies as he was out of contract

Lot of the signings over last few years have been 4 year deals so no …. There been no change to the budget

No chance Ramsay is RWB starter

    Don’t need a keeper

    our original shopping list was
    LCB
3 wing backs ( two right and one left )
    3 midfielders
    1 striker

Two fees so far and I’d guess maybe two more. After that we need some Championship loans and some out of contract signings. Still think we need six in but I think that might be pushing it.

I’d love a GK but think that’s unlikely. Kaminski will have to do for this season and then we can look to upgrade next summer

RWB we need two. Ramsay won’t be starting there. If you start Ramsay RWB with Edwards/Mesik LWB then we will be even less creative than we were last season. The RWB signings need to offer attacking threat and ideally one will have some pace and 1v1 ability going forward

I think it will be 2 central midfielders, both starters. We still have Coventry, Costello and Docherty so more than 2 incoming is unlikely

Number 10 we have 3 players already so I think it’s very unlikely we bring in another. Don’t think we will add any more unless the change to 3-4-2-1 is going to be our primary system this season

Strikers we have a lot so we’d need a lot of movement out if we want 2 incoming. I think a Campbell alternative forward is the most important signing in the forward line, in terms of number 9s I’m happy with Kelman, Godden, Leaburn and Mbick as options so I’d only add 1 as that TC-type option to complete the set. Everyone else can leave

I’d advise on some patience. You can’t overhaul everything in one summer, and when teams try to it quite often backfires and goes very wrong. I think around 7 signings is a sensible number and we can keep adding and improving over the next few years while also developing the players we have and are signing now

Six more? Or four more including the two already.

No, we need TWO right wing backs. Not 1 and hope Ramsay or whoever "can cover". That's how it always goes wrong.
