Wishful thinking wouldn't it be great if we could sign Scott Twine from Bristol City and get Max Dowman (the wonder kid from Arsenal) for a season's loan. Or even the Watford guy who set up their equaliser!

For the brief period they were on together, Dykes and Godden looked really dangerous, giving the defenders a lot to think about.
As a penalty box player, Godden has more about him than Kelman, as his movement and anticipation in the box are better, plus he's more physical than Kelman as well.7 -
Dowman will be a regular starter for Arsenal next year and to my mind ought to be a wild card for the world cup squad. He looks that good!?Silverdreammachine said:Wishful thinking wouldn't it be great if we could sign Scott Twine from Bristol City and get Max Dowman (the wonder kid from Arsenal) for a season's loan. He won't be going anywhere on loan not least to us but keep up the wishful thinking Silver!7 -
It's hard to be critical of JRC, he's only played the equivalent of 6.5 full matches out 41. No wonder he looks like he's treading water sometimes but I wouldn't write him off.... I'd like to see him start Saturday but with Nathan who knows.

Just on the ‘more physical’ point. I saw Godden ‘fighting’ to win the ball against at least 2 defenders multiple times. I can’t recall Kelman doing that once this season. He does not ‘put himself about’ enough and the psychology of doing so means defenders lose confidence and make mistakes / pull back from the battle, even subconsciously.killerandflash said:For the brief period they were on together, Dykes and Godden looked really dangerous, giving the defenders a lot to think about.

Funny that it doesn’t get mentioned very often yet TC is regularly criticised for it.BalladMan said:

I think at this level, defenders are clever cheats. Don't get me wrong, our ones are too. There is a working out process which isn't always instant.0

In the Premier league, they are even cleverer. How do similar players manage this? Is it more strength, more nastiness? I have not got the answers but he might benefit from some support from somebody who does. What I have noticed with Leaburn is he gets a bum deal from refs. He can be fouled and they miss it and he gets pulled up even when he isn't fouling. Is there something he can do in respect of his game? Maybe he could look at a player like Keiffer Moore. I don't mean model himself but see how he gets away with it. Just an example.7

I agree. I hope that Kelman comes good but, as it stands, Championship defenders lining up against him are going to be pretty confident of having a reasonably comfortable afternoon.BalladMan said:
