As the Championship and promotion were already safe it was all academic. However in other circumstances there might have been cause for debate and dispute.
Northeast will get a lot more tons in his career and Blake looks a decent prospect too. With Joe D long established in the team and England U19 International James Goodman not far behind the others I do think that, in a few years, we might have a batting line up which will be the envy of most other Counties.
That is, providing of course, they aren't all playing for England!!!
According to the Sunday Telegraph, Jonesy is to be recalled to the Test squad for the South Africa tour as reserve keeper.
