Kent 155-3 second innings (264 first) need 133 to make Glos bat again. Northeast 76 not out.

Kent lost by an innings and 23 runs. Northeast carried his bat for 128 not out. Jones was absent hurt so did not bat in the second innings.
Gloucestershire had 12 batsmen in their innings which is unusual. The reason being that Franklin was summoned to the ICC Trophy so they were allowed a substitute (Ireland) who could fully participate in the match.
As the Championship and promotion were already safe it was all academic. However in other circumstances there might have been cause for debate and dispute.0 -
Northeast will get a lot more tons in his career and Blake looks a decent prospect too. With Joe D long established in the team and England U19 International James Goodman not far behind the others I do think that, in a few years, we might have a batting line up which will be the envy of most other Counties.
That is, providing of course, they aren't all playing for England!!!0 -
