  • Rather let them off the hook. 224-8 to 333-9 at the close. Bowling figures as below:

    DE Bollinger 21-2-100-2
    RH Joseph 11-4-24-0
    DI Stevens 24-8-46-3
    ME Claydon 21-3-93-1
    AEN Riley 19-5-52-3
  • Bollinger finished off the tail with no addition to the score so Leics 333 AO.

In reply, for the third time from three CC partnerships this year, both Notheast (18) and Key (27) are out without making meaningful contributions.

    53-2 at present.
  • 80-2 (253 behind) with both D J B-D & Nash 15*
  • edited April 2014
    136-2 (197 behind)

    D J B-D 43*
    Nash 42*

    Undefeated partnership of 91.
  • 199-5

    DBD 58 Nash 45

At least we avoided the follow on.....
  • 247-5 Stevens 47*
  • 250-6 Stevens gone for 48
  • edited April 2014
    Stevens now out for 48.

    248-6

Once Billings goes we might as well declare. Claydon at 8 averages 15.32, Joseph 10.43, Bollinger 7.05 & Riley 7.30. I would be extremely surprised if there is a worst tail in first class cricket.

Now go and prove me wrong chaps ;-)
  • LOL Billings hasn't got any faith in the tail either - hits two 6's in 3 balls.
  • England at The Oval 1999

    8. Andy Caddick 14.89
    9. Alan Mullally 8.59
    10. Phil Tufnell 9.69
    11. Ed Giddins 5.28

Total average of 38.45 so just beats this 40.1

Won't take too many failures from our lot to dip below that England tail.

  • Billings out for 38.

    269-7.
  • We don't even have any faith either in our tail. Declared at 269-7.

Caddick at 8 still makes me shudder.

Reckon someone like Riviera could probably find a worse tail than that.
  • Leics 27-2 second innings
  • 39-2 at the close

Trust me - if he did he would be part of that tail ;-)

  • Leics declare @ 259-5 to set us 324 to win.

In reply we are 70-4 having been 36-4 at one point with Northeast, Key, Nash & Harmison all failing - again!
  • 89-4 match drawn. D J B-D 39* & Stevens 34*.
  • Pleased to announce that Young AA has made the final Kent U11 winter training squad.

This consists of 22 and will be reduced, following a dozen or so training sessions, to a summer playing squad of approximately 14.

After almost six months of Winter assessments and training, we today heard that young AA, along with a team mate from the Bexley U11s, has made the Kent Summer playing squad.

Looks like we will be doing a few miles this summer ;-)

  • Brilliant news, AA !

If we knew his name, we'd all be looking out for his progress.

    Junior Addick Addict isn't enough.....
  • Sadly for the kid Junior Addick Addict is his name.

    Thanks Fanny.

His name is Sebastian Naylor, known simply as "Seb" to his family and friends. As I have said previously, he plays for Bexley CC and his friend, Marcus, who has been playing cricket with Seb together since they were five has also made the 14 "man" playing squad:

Hopefully the two will drive each other on to play one day together for the Kent First Team. A long way to go before then but they both have drive and determination and do have the likes of Adam Ball and Adam Riley who have been though the ranks at Bexley to aspire to.
  • Thanks, AA.

Will def look out for them both.

My eldest grandkids have started attending a Friday evening session at Mayfield Cricket Club & enjoying it so far.
  • Surrey 276-8 at end of day 1 in CC.

Charlton fan and Bexley CC player, Adam Riley, pick of Kent bowlers with 4-77.
  • Kent Girls Under 13 Team playing in the final of a one day competion (held over from last season), they beat Warickshire yesterday by 139 Runs. They are playing Yorkshire in the final. My grandaughter is playing.

What Club does she play for Dansk? I am currently involved in trying to raise the profile of Girls Cricket in the Bexley Borough and the likes of Sidcup and Bexley have successfully produced a number of players who have gone onto play for the County at junior levels and will hopefully attain International status one day.
  • She plays for Bexley but also sometimes plays in the boys team at Dartford.

    Snap ;-)

We may actually know each other by sight if not by name.

Good luck to your Grandaughter and the Kent Team in the Final. Would be a good way to start the season - with a Trophy.

  • Surrey 285 A O

In reply we are 75-0 (Northeast 45* & Key 30*).
