Bottom and second bottom come the end of the season. Two poor sides. Once Kent ' s finances are better they can invest in better players, especially overseas ones.

I think some of our problems are down to coaching and captaincy. I'm sorry to say that I see this season as the last for Adams and Key if we want to move forward. We do need to find a fast bowler from somewhere as well.
165-5 (52 runs behind) so an undefeated partnership of 71 between Stevens (34) and Ball (27) to date. Bet that's the kiss of death ;-(
Adam Ball is an "interesting" one. Certainly most of the people I have spoken to who knew him growing up always thought of him as primarily as a batsman. The bowling aspect only really came later when Kent and England thought that he might be a front line bowler.
Ultimately, he might well be groomed to be Stevens' successor in the side. He is unlikely ever to be lightning quick but could do the containing job and if his batting stats do improve (in the CC this season he averages 36.85 and that puts him 4th behind D B-D, Nash and Stevens) then we should have a decent all rounder.
Of course the other thing I should have mentioned about Adam is that, for I believe the first time this season, he has batted ahead of Sam Billings (averages 21.76 in CC this season). It can also only do him good to bat for periods of time like today with Stevens.

More like Bungle.....
189-7
Remember spending couple of days there years ago.
Min Patel and our other spinner (Davies?) got 10 wickets each.
A wicket for Ball
A wicket for Hartley on his first class debut
A second wicket for Hartley on his debut.
Claydon 5-77
Fat Bob out Harmy junior batting at 3 to shield Northeast
D B-D out for 24
Nash in. I assume Northeast will bat at 5.
Harmison out for 20.
Northeast in at 5 as I thought.

You were probably there as Min started about then and Richard Davis (RIP) was playing then too. Deadly retired in 1987 so had gone by then.
Here is the scorecard:

Nash out for 21 and Northeast out for 6.
At least we've avoided the follow on!
Some good players in both teams back then.

Still a partnership of 92 and 186-6 (Stevens 46*) looks a lot better than 94-5. Just 31 behind now.
194-7 (Stevens 50*) and 23 behind.
207-8 and 10 behind.
My wifes nephew playing for Essex.
