The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is my new favourite film of the year. Really loved it. Very sweet, visually stunning and at times laugh-out-loud funny.
I have tickets to see this on tuesday, do you think kids will enjoy it?
I think so... how old are they?
The subtler stuff will get lost, but the overall feel of the movie is bright and breezy, and some of the more... Stiller-esque moments (the recreation of Benjamin Button, for instance) will make most people laugh, whatever their age!

Cameron Diaz has an 'interesting' scene with a Ferrari. 4.5/6
She does the splits on the windscreen of the Ferrari and procedes to rub herself off on the windscreen....it came over as being freakishly weird rather than sexy.
The Butler. Little too sugar coated which overawed the more serious side of segragation in the mid sixties...entertaining and well acted but too Schmaltzy for me 5/10, very average..... and Ive no idea what came over Rickman wanting to play Reagan albeit Jane Fonda made a convincing Nancy.
Just my take on Frozen. I saw it in spanish with my two daughters. They both liked that idiot snowman, and the youngest liked the whole thing. The older one did'nt like it much. As for me, and I admit I seem to be flying against public opinión here, I thought it was the worst animated film I've seen since Valient. They cheerfully said it was 'by the makers of Tangled' without mentioning that they used all their fun stuff up in Tangled, and replaced it with a non stop grind of mediocre songs. The one point when the film picked up (a bit) was the finale, when the music stopped and they got on with the story. Other people did like it, but I'll stick with my view that this one is vastly overrated, and I won't be buying it on DVD when it makes its money grabbing appearance in the shops. Marks out of ten.....2

Yes it's different viewing it a second time but i enjoyed it more when i watched it again, the punchline is remarkably blatant and it shows how clever Singer is that you don't pick up on it first time around! Agree about it being a great film.

Saw it with my 5 year old today, she loved it.
Didn't think it was that bad but agree with you about some of the songs.

If we all agreed it'd be boring, Ken! For what it's worth, I do get where you're coming from with the songs - generally, I can't bear films that break into song for no apparent reason - but for a lot of kids films I think it's fair enough because kids love it so much, so it goes with the territory to an extent.
I'm always happy to cut kids films a break in terms of storyline, cheesiness etc, purely because of the target audience, but I do appreciate when the makers make the effort to hold an adult viewer's attention too. I felt they did this effectively in 'Frozen', but maybe part of my enjoyment was seeing my daughter so enraptured!
Certainly agree with that. I loved how happy the younger one was when the snowman appeared, but I've seen them enraptured in other films (Despicable Me 2 and Polar Express last night spring to mind) but nearly everyone I've spoken to or read about seems to have loved Frozen so I asume it's me. Absolutely loved The Usual Suspects.
Watched a couple of this year's Blockbusters Star Trek into darkness and Iron Man 3. Both enjoyable with stunning special effects but Into Darkness story not as good as the first and IM3 would have been better with some of the fat trimmed off!

I know it's not a film but this DVD is so funny it deserves a mention.

This didn't get great reviews when released and it does have a lot more style than substance but i really enjoyed it.
