This is a bit of an odd one. It's the story of how two women cope with grief but in very different ways. This film will appeal to women more than men but never the less it's quite interesting.
The Place Beyond The Pines. Stylish and atmospheric with a great soundtrack but just couldn't buy into the story in the second half of the film. I kept thinking that TJ was closer to Ryans character and Jason to Bradley Coopers and some of the characters didn't seem to age much compared to others and that's where I started to lose interest in what was happening on the screen. The biggest problem I had with it was the casting of Ryan Gosling, Ben Mendelsohn and Ray Liotta who were typecast to similar roles in other recent films whereas Bradley Cooper was more believable in his role.
Anchorman 2 is essentially the first film, but more. If you liked the first film, then you'll love the second. If you disliked/were ambivalent about the first, nothing in this one will change your mind in the slightest. I personally thought it was hilarious, but Ferrell is definitely a pretty marmite actor.
Blue Is The Warmest Colour - an intense love story but I feel that rather too much has been made of this film and the sex within it. The narrative also didn't quite hang together in one or two important places. 7/10
Watched Captain Phillips last night.It kept me on the edge of my seat almost from the beginning to the end.I'm a big fan of the Jason Bourne trilogy and also loved United 93 and Green Zone.Now having watched and enjoyed six Paul Greengrass films,I think he's become one of my favourite directors.
One thing I kept wondering though was how come there were no guns or armed guards on a ship sailing through such dangerous waters????
I watched a preview screening of Out of the furnace on Thursday and loved it. Rammed packed full of stars this film is a slow burning revenge thriller that has awards written all over it. I would be surprised if Woody Harrelson doesn't pick up a nomination or two as he is outstanding. This is released in the UK in January.

Secret Life of Walter Mitty - sweet. Prisoners - performances and cinematography. Blackfish - biased, but necessarily so. The Way, Way Back - sweet. Django Unchained - Tarantino. Gravity - thrilling Mud - sucker for mcconaughey Nebraska - sweet and funny Act of Killing - fuck that Place Beyond Pines - unique
Didn't get a chance to see Rush, Cap Phillips, Out of Furnace, Blue Is Warmest or Good Vibrations. Got those to look forward to.

Idris Elba is superb as Mandela but the film feels awfully rushed despite it being two and a half hours long. It would have been better if it concentrated on one aspect of his life rather than all of it.

I think it's safe to assume that it is always his opinion. If he says which actor was in it then that is a fact and can be correct or wrong, but if anyone on here give a review of a film (or a players' performance) then it should be assumed that it is an opinion.
Interestingly I don't tend to agree with all the views on films on here or the TV series thread. However, over a period of time, I've worked out which other posters tend to like the kind of stuff I like and have gone out of my way to watch films and/or TV programs based on their recommendations.
A view can't be wrong. If I don't have the same view then that probably affects how I see any future views from that poster, but it's not at all uncommon for IMDB to have a different view to RT and in those cases not everyone can be right (or wrong).

Before Midnight is the third film in the series. The first is Before Sunrise (1995) and the second Before Sunset (2004) . I would definitely say you have to watch the first two to appreciate the relationship between Ethan Hawke's and Julie Delpy's on screen characters. Get hold of them on DVD , you wont regret it. They are brilliant movies.

That's all absolutely true...so why say to me "in your opinion"? Sure I could start each sentence with IMO or "I think", but I figured that was assumed.
Welcome to the sickly sweet world of Richard Curtis. A man who only makes films about extremely nice posh people and with About Time he has excelled himself. I couldn't relate to single person in this movie ( or any of his others) Horrendous. Where is that bucket.
Saw Anchorman 2 yesterday. What a waste of time and money. Had about 3 chuckles tops. Will Ferrell has never been all that in my eyes but the 1st film was funny, this one has put the final nail in the coffin for Will Ferrell movies for me.
