[cite]Posted By: Cordoban Addick[/cite]Agreed and thirded. I would much rather one of the (hugely in debt) big 4/6 or 8 go under.
Theres isnt a club in the world I'd wish it on, every club is built ona fan base, every club has those few who travel hundreds and thousands of miles a season to watch their club and would do so no matter what position their club was in. Nobody like that deserves to have what they love taken away.

I would like one hugely indebted club to go under, but not to go out of existence. I would hope this would be a wake up call to football, if a further one was needed, but I doubt it. If a big team falls down the league, so be it, the proper fan base would still be there. Its fans of clubs like Raith and Chester that I feel sorry for.
My home town club and "other team" are Weymouth, they have a worse recent history for owners than Pompey, and they are certain to be relegated to what ever is under the Conference South this season. At the moment they are playing U18s and local reserves (hence being tanked 7-1 by welling). Two years ago they were looking very good for the conference play offs, its a very sad demise. But if they still exist next season, it will be enough for me.
Son of Selhurst ....and Budgie, and the other decent Crystal Palace supporters, i don't wish your club to be wound up.....you need to galvanise yourselves to fight for your club, even if set against the unimaginable millions of debt and so on, the soul, and therefore the history of your club lies with you the supporters. If AFC Wimbledon, Aldershot, Accrington Stanley, Bradford Park Avenue (yes),a new Chester and others can grow against the odds, then you can if you try.Brighton and ourselves are examples of what kind of things can be done....it may wellbe you don't want to be anything like those neighbours of yours, but maybe you could learn from the efforts of others. Your meetings need to be a bit bigger than 75odd though.

There's the crunch - I can't believe how small the turnout was; particularly as their Trust is looking at ways of 'buying' into the Club/ground purchase.
Ground sharing with Millwall will be far easier for the Nigels than hiking over to the Valley. With a kiddie team and about 5-8K turning out to support, times would be really rough for our stripey cousins. I for one would welcome them to the valley. The big difference being that CAFC would not want to take over or amalgamate with Palace...which always seemed on the cards back in the eighties. So I don't think they would hate us all that much. Bad sign of the times though as Palace are in the top 30 'big' clubs in the country, according to statistics.
SOS, keep your chin up. I think there is a buyer there. My guess is that somebody/consortium has already tabled a bid but very much at the low end. I think that the Administrator has been trying to force their hand, with a rival bidder. I think he is now threatening them with dismantling the squad in order to manage the club through the summer. Its a game of poker and maybe one of the bidders has just blinked, given the slightly more up beat statement tonight.
Difficult one this. I have to weigh up my overriding feelings of warmth towards anyone who supports a football team through thick and thin, knows the lean times (usually) far outweigh the good ones and still goes every other week with my intense dislike for Jordan, the majority of Palace's muggy fanbase and our experiences at Sellout in the eighties.
They did alright today had all the ball and did not get the rub of the green, but whenever the sheep shaggers attacked they looked like scoring. Hate the way Ambrose plays well for them
I do not want them to go out of business as my life would be missing something without their comedy. I enjoy their suffering though, but no club should fold
If other clubs cease to exist you end up with Manure v Chelski for all eternity, like the Harlem Globetrotters v (who was it?) the Washington Generals for ever!!
Half Time in the Champ and on the live table Palace are currently 5 points from safety...I bet those potential purchasers are queing outside the Administrators door!
Wouldn't like to see them go bust, i have plenty of mates who are fans and it would be sad for them, relegation and a slide to League2 whilst we poach all their best younger players I could live with though!

tbf though, the better of the young ones would probably want to go to Millwall, as they'd want to stay in the Championship.
Oh well, I've at least got over that robbery today by the Welsh, our season now begins on Tuesday at Watford, hopefully after hearing some good news on Monday.
Well at least budgie sounds a bit cheerful. Poor old SOS sounds as if he is heading for the river... Maybe I am being a bit fanciful but I think we need palace (and Millwall) to measure ourselves by. Whether we like it or not palace have a similar sized fanbase, and history, to ourselves. When they were the team of the eighties and we were piss poor, I was as jealous as hell of their relative success. Since then but the wheel of fortune has twisted and changed a few times and palace look as if they could be off to the Ishman league for a few years. At the moment Millwall look as if they will soon be the top team in sarf London. Now who would have though that possible a few years ago?

It'd be a massive shame and I can't imagine any Charlton fan really wants that to happen. Whats football without rivalry?
Seconded

I truly hope they get out of this mess.
I truly hope Jordan doesn't.

watching themas we speak...
What goes around comes around.
After giving it careful consideration, F**k 'em.
same here but i know there is one team who would be more deserving of the none existance than them
WTF ?
;-)
