When he asked what I thought of the gig I said something like "Thought it was a bit s**t really, bad music, obviously miming, bored me to be honest". He arrived in the pub on the same bicycle as he uses in Shallow Hal. Very surreal, but genuinely a nice guy
Met Sir Geoff Hurst on Saturday at our Basildon Town Football Club fun day. He spent a couple of hours there signing autographs and chatting to all the kids. He was such a breathe of fresh air after Fridays nights events!
Also met my boyhood hero Nicky Johns when I was mascot at the Valley many years ago :)
